Jerry Moore would have their current record this year if he was the HC at Tech.
Switched to LSU & Vandy during the break. Vandy is going to 6-1 by beating a good LSU team. Haven't watched Vandy much this season before now, but Diego Pavia looks like an excellent college QB and their D looks solid with players that unlike our guys aren't routinely out of position, or missing tackles all over the place, or constantly giving up 5+ yards after contact. Wish that was our team.
LSU had big expectations bringing in Brian Kelly to get them back in the CFP hunt.
He's been good...but not great so far there.
Had two SEC losses in each of his first 2 seasons...had 3 SEC losses last year...and now already has 2 conference losses on this year.

Call me crazy but I don't think our talent is far behind tech's. Better QB and Wrs at least. Plus our in-state recruiting was way better under McGuire so the team would be fuller

As stated on Gameday this morning. Vandy's D starts 1 four star and 2 transfer portal starters. The other 8 were 3 stars and lower. But we have a whole room of people saying we shouldn't expect anything from our defensive coaches because there's no talent.
Wow…… nobody cares….. I feel so bad for our young men who have to play for this poor poor football coach….
McGuire has the best team in the Big 12 because Tech's money bought the team. It has little to do with McGuire's coaching….

I was onboard with keeping Joey back then. Obviously he's been propped up to a degree with a massive inflow of cash that he probably wouldn't have seen at BU....which makes it hard to decipher how much of the success is coaching and how much is having superior talent compared to B12 foes.
No way to know how he would have done here compared to what Dave has given us....I would have been onboard with that hire though.

It would be the end of Franklin's career as a P4 HC. He's smarter than that.

Dave is probably in the 25 % tile of Div 1 head coaches. His interviews like the one at halftime can't inspire anyone other than those looking for a cure for insomnia. Attendance and enthusiasm are lagging. James Franklin and Napier sound like terrible ideas. Grant Teaff and Art Briles had long histories in Texas HS football before coaching in college. I don't know too much about GJ Kinne at Texas State but that might be a good place to start looking. If we come back in this game I might revise what I have to say.
You are correct, regardless of whether or not we come back. Average recruiting, below average development, average play calling, .500 record over a 6 year span. By now, what he is is what he is.

Could, their remaining schedule is absolutely brutal down the stretch. They still have Tennessee, Mizzou, Texas to name a few

Trailing 35-21, the over/under on there being more than 1,000 people in the stands when this gets back underway?
I think in a typical game not many would stay around...but with a chance to see your team kick your rivals ass I bet more than normal will stay

Yep. All about Jimmys and Joes. Screw the x's and o's. A high school team can sometimes smart their way to a title, but after that , talent and hustle are the only attributes that matter.

They hate us more than we hate them. All goes back to when the Big 12 was formed and TCU was exiled to the WAC , but Baylor got the invite due to our political influence. When I was a student at BU, a few years before all that, we didn't give 2 $#!ts about TCU.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?
