That looks like a guy who has been beaten down - and I can sympathize with Dave. No doubt that Mack is bi-polar and narcissistic based on his actions and responses. We've all worked for crappy bosses and this one tops the chart. I can only imagine how difficult it was to have the guy cheer you one day then slam you the next.
I would like to see a new AD now, evaluate Dave and go from there...

I've wanted him gone last year - didn't happen. I want him gone now but frankly Baylor isn't going to pull the trigger on a new AD and Head Football coach in the same year. So the lesser of the two evils is to keep Dave and let the new AD drive a better direction for Baylor athletics....

Outside the actual news, I don't really like to seeing all the rampant speculation about any unfounded personal issues based only on really basic and incomplete descriptions of reported events and photos of his groovy shirts and his hair styles and such.

Agree. Btw anyone can check the district clerk records of McLennan County. If one did one would find Rhoades has never been a party to a civil suit in this county. Is that a definitive answer as to some of the speculation here? No but it wipes out about 95% of it in all likelihood.
I think Aranda referring to the issue as "an HR deal above my pay grade"... lends some credence that this is at least something more than a total nothing burger.
What is funny is that as with most universities no one makes more than the HC in football. So technically it is handled by someone way below his pay grade. I know what he meant but was still funny to me
Fingers crossed the story peters out. It sounds like Mack needs some discipline (maybe firing) but I'd prefer that not be done in the front page or be debated by the talking heads at ESPN. BU has already had enough bad press to last a lifetime.

BAYLOR Athletics… kinda like radiation treatments, doc says "it's the gift that keeps on giving". Not in a good way.
Confident Mack had substance abuse issues while at U of H and life at Missouri wasn't so peachy at all..Plenty of warning signs yet Baylor accepts because (1) in general our Board is inept and (2) we like new shiny objects and won't replace them when its apparent we need to make changes..
