If you are at a point of rooting for any Baylor team to lose (don't know if anyone here is doing that just responding to the last post) to satisfy some type of agenda you just need to move on, drop out or go find another school.

Those kids are out there doing everything they can to win. They deserve to have the fans support them. They are putting in the time that no one here puts in. Find another way to express disappointment or frustration, but to hope they lose to make the coach or admin look bad or to think they are forcing a change is crap.

Hope this is a strawman argument and no one like that exists. If you don't want to spend money fine, but it is crap to wish the team to lose.
I'll never root for BU to lose, but they're NOT doing everything they can to win.

That may not be entirely their fault, but the level of effort isn't 100%. If we are to believe they're giving everything they can and this is the product they deliver…then logically we'd have to concede that they're just not good and their ceiling is low.

It would be an insult to them to believe this is their best.

With the exception of walk ons, these are professional athletes being paid anywhere from tens of thousands to millions of dollars to play college football. It is their *job* to win. The "these are just a bunch of college kids playing a game they love" trope is dead, buried, and there are daisies growing on it. Win the games you're getting paid to play.

As I responded to whoever it was on the previous pages of this thread.. I would never tell someone how to spend their money or their time.

My post was strictly about rooting for failure for the kids that put on the jersey of the school I love.

I'm 59 so I've seen the good and bad.. I never rooted for us to get murdered during the Steele years even though it was an obvious outcome.
We don't have to root for it. We just finished the season 1-5 and trailed by two scores in every loss and by three (or more) scores in four of the five.

I don't want us to get whipped. But as long as we employ a coach who is an impediment to success, that's the most likely outcome. And the sooner we rid ourselves of that coach, the better.

When an argument could be made that Aranda was a mediocre coach still learning on the job, I rooted (against my instinct and better judgment) for him to buck the odds and get this thing back on track. Now that he's dipped well below that meager standard (we're 22-28 the last four years with three losing seasons in that span), I just want him gone.

Life's too short to watch bad, poorly coached football every week, especially in the NIL/transfer portal era, where there's little long-term growth or building to be done in these types of seasons.

And back to the original question. "How bad is it going to get?", see the nose dive our recruiting class has taken over the last week and that should tell you everything you need to know about Baylor football going forward.

We are going to have to drag the corps of Dave into the mid point of next season at the very least. We are then going to have to attract a coach who is able to take on a complete rebuild. Next years team is going to make the Year 1 Matt Rhule team seem like world beaters

This will be a total, ground up demolition and rebuild and it's not likely to generate results for at least 2 to 3 years after Dave is gone.

Not much to be excited about.
