WACO, Texas – Baylor football’s season opener against Auburn on Sept. 5 is set for a 2:30 p.m. CST kickoff on ABC.

The matchup was originally scheduled as a home game at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium before being moved to the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

When the move to Atlanta was announced on Oct. 6, reports indicated the change would create NIL opportunities for Auburn players — a first for a neutral-site college football game. At the time, the Tigers were expected to be the only program to benefit from the arrangement.

However, per sources, Baylor football players will also receive NIL opportunities for the matchup despite serving as the road team.

Auburn opened the 2025 season with a 38-24 win over Baylor, evening the all-time series at 2-2-1. The Tigers also won the only previous neutral-site meeting between the programs in the 1954 Gator Bowl.

What NIL opportunities are created for Baylor by a game in Atlanta? It's the home of Coca-Cola, but our ties are Pepsi and Dr Pepper.

I reserved a hotel room in ATL so I can see up close how good or terrible we will be this year.
