No, that's weird. The athletes don't feel the same sense of loyalty. Unconditional fandom in modern college sports is like falling in love with a stripper


Now that said, I think people should be fans in whatever way suits them, but the traditional idea of be true to your school unconditional "fandom" ended when athletes started demanding revenue sharing and could play at four different schools over six years

True. Bottom line, I'm pretty sure it was a joke. I would hope a married person would have more loyalty relatively speaking to their wife than to a failing professional sports team

Realistically, no. I've been a homer for decades, but in the words of Otis Redding… "Good God Almighty" I've tried to wash the green & gold from my soul. It's getting easier today knowing the futility of Aranda and realizing where the intent truthfully is with the Admin/BOR.

I hope to see a team that looks ready to play, at least for a game 1 against a legit level foe. That's probably do-able.

What I want to see even more is a team that can have a winning plan, adjust during the game better than the opponent, and make great in-game decisions at crucial moments. I'm far more concerned with this side of it.

Put it on paper.

What I halfway EXPECT to see is a new defense that at least seems to have people in the right place most of the time, and force Auburn to make great plays in order to beat them on any particular drive.

What I am excited to see is a new quarterbacking talent leading the charge and making good things happen.

What I fear I might see is a lot of head-scratching moments.

What I'm gonna see is just what it is gonna be. It's game one, just one step, good or bad is isn't the whole season. Win or lose I'm waiting to see how the react and respond going forward through the season.

My expectations are so low I don't think I can be disgusted with the outcome unless the players just straight up quit trying.

But I'm also excited CFB is back....even though most of these morning games are trash it just feels good to have a full day of games ahead.

Live at Mercedes Benz now after a few beers listening to J Mo and McNamee and Lagways mom pump up the crowd at the Baylor tailgate.

Appears to be a 85-15 % split advantage Auburn in fans.

It was already hostile for me at the urinals as some Auburn frat bros in their Peter Millar outfits got in my face.
