Random side note/question. Why do you validate the Village Idiot by addressing him at all? No one. No one takes him seriously. Why quote him or waste your time? Put him on ignore, but please avoid quoting. Safe us the pain of seeing his dribble.

I generally don't get into it with MV because of his idiotic posts, but sometimes even a honyok has to be put in his place. I'll begin to refrain. Apologies.

Unless he's quoted, which isn't often because he's usually ignored, I havnt seen a post of his in over 7 months. I've never seen a bigger waste of time. You wouldn't give a complete imbecile the time of day in real life...why would you on this forum?

What dumb statement is this? This is a football forum, there's zero reason to talk about regents unless promoting the farcical narrative that they railroaded Briles out the door.

Regent failings, real or imagined, have no bearing on the 2018 Baylor football season or program.

Yet two years after they rightfully terminated a coach the same tired attempt to act like they scapegoated a football coach persists with a loud and ignorant minority on this message board.

And pretending it's because you care about lack of oversite of Title 9 by regents is just laughable.

You only care that they fired a football coach, if he had been spared you would be silent.

Beyond that, regent talk is irrelevant to Baylor football.

BOR failings will forever be tied to the football program due to the nature of the path they chose to take. Because of the BOR's failure in this whole mess and it's impact on the University and the football team, it very much belongs on the football board. I'm sorry that upsets you and your friend/family member on the BOR.

Simple and factual statement (based on the following assumption... If the scandal happened according to reports, per PH findings, and legal depositions) then:

ALL involved failed our university. Period. All involved were not held accountable.

What's not simple or intellectually honest is the process of Watching BoR'ders become what they proclaim to hate... Cab'ers... trying to spin, twist, and justify their hypocritical agenda. It's freak'n hilarious. They either know it and don't care, or are too ignorant to see their own absurdity. Keyser falls into the "knows it" and doesn't care. He's an acknowledged shill. The Village Idiot...well, need I say more?

Go on.

Those are my recollections. There are other folks on here who know details.

I don't know detail, but I remember a woefully below D1 standards kicker being allowed to kick. It seemed more like when they let a girl kicker with a 35 yard limit, slow deliver, and not accurate onto the team, when every 2A school around has a guy this good. Don't remember who the dad was, seemed like it was the guy who liked to put videos of himself playing hoops on the internet, maybe wrong there though. Whoever the kid was wouldn't have started at a HS who had a good kicker, much less a P5 University.

Total garbage, I just don't remember names, but the situation.

His name is Aaron Jones.
He couldn't help who his father is, but he was never good.
His best year was his freshman year and we were 73rd nationally.
He got worse after that and there were always a hundred or more teams that kicked field goals better.
I wonder if his spot on the team was a function of that something he couldn't help.

===========================
See below for correction. Aaron Jones was not son of regent. (The stats, however, are correct).

I'll copy the post below for those who don't want to scroll down.

"OK, a little more searching shows that Mr. Dary Stone was the kicker in question.

He played in 2009 and didn't do that badly in his rather brief stay. (5/6 field goals, 4/4 XP)

I had forgotten his name and had to do a google search to remember it. Of course, it is old news now, though it would be interesting to know if any meddling was going on from the regent level about that. Given his father's tendencies in other areas, it would come as no surprise at all if there was.

Fun Fact: Baylor's all-time career field goal kicker is Aaron Jones with 59. (Jeff Ireland is a distant second with 45. That Matt Bryant guy had 21)

Jones may not have been the most accurate kicker, but on kickoffs he could kick it out of the endzone on a regular basis.

I think D.C. was confused and referring to a kicker whose father was on the Baylor Board of Regents. I would really rather not mention the name. The son certainly had no control over who his father was.

I'll provide the answer to the mystery, but first the background on how I learned of it.

Remember 5-6-7 years ago when the athletic dept had a sale on game-worn jerseys from 2009 and maybe 2010? I think it was $50 a pop, but you couldn't get #10 (RG3), #1 (Kendall W), etc., but just about any other number was available. They took the player's name off the back, but otherwise it was legit. They had green, white, and the infamous gold-out jerseys from the 2009 HC loss to OkSt.

Without looking at the roster, I decided to order #84 since that was my graduation year. First mistake. Figured it would be a WR or TE about my size (6'2", 200) or bigger, and probably a L or XL. Second mistake.

Jersey #84 arrived, and it was a MEDIUM. I hadn't worn a medium since I was a skinny 9th or 10th grader. And since I'm still smaller than most football players, I wondered who in the heck would be so scrawny to have actually worn such a jersey.

So I looked it up in the football archives. Turned out to be a kicker. Here's the link:

http://www.baylorbears.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_chools/bay/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2009-football-roster#main-content-wrap

Let he who is without sin cast the first......aw, heck, you know the rest.

There have been a very large number of Regent's and other folks of "importance" who had kids don the green & gold when they could barely play at their private schools. It is and was not isolated to the football team either.

I suppose they were good Nuggs?

Maybe they taught the Nuggs some new, private white boy school some horrible sideline Nuggery dance moves?
