What is the deal complaining about the Oklahoma drill? You guys come off as a bunch of no tradition TAPPS school fans who had a running clock when you played to keep the opponents from running up the score.
How about injuries?

that most NFL, college and high school teams do not do this drill anymore because of injuries. EVER.

And we do it right before a game.....

It's definitely a drill for physical squads.
Assumption of the risk playing football.
So you are saying NFL teams that no longer do this are not physical??? yeah ok. That tells us all we need to know about your level of football IQ. You think coaches who are winning super bowls don't know what to do to make their team a "physical squad"
It isn't as physical in college. Do you think the New England Patriots don't practice hitting and aren't physical?
You guys act like teams practice with flags. Injuries happen in football.
I know that at many points they don't and the NFL rules guarantee they don't. And it has been that way for years.

No tackling/hitting at camps.

https://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/01/sports/football/new-rule-at-nfls-camps-no-tackling-its-just-practice.html

Since 2015 they get 14 padded practices 11 for the first 11 weeks a season. So one a week. Or you can do 2 a week once.

The CFL doesn't do ANY padded practices.

But yeah you are sooooooooooo much smarter than all these NFL guys who don't do it. I mean it isn't like Pete Carroll has ever won anything......

Serious question: do you really believe that such restrictions limiting practicing in pads are in place because that is what NFL coaches want? Because if so, you live in a fantasy world. All those rules limiting contact are a result of negotiations with the NFL Players Association. Just in case you aren't aware, NFL players have an extremely well-funded, powerful union due to the extraordinarily high income that its members enjoy. Guess what? College football players do not.

So other than exhibiting an extreme lack of knowledge about professional football, your post is spot-on.

Please quote where I said the coaches created the rule. You won't be able to because I did not say that.

Then look up Pete Carroll. He didn't use the drill at usc either.

So thanks for showing you lack of understanding football.

Now you can go back to planting your lips on the backsides of the bor and Rhule.

Your stupidity is often breathtaking.

I have no regard for the bor and my jury is still out on Rhule, though I see many encouraging signs.

That can be little doubt that I know infinitely more about football than you do, and ever will. I played it for 15 freaking years.

Apparently you need an elementary explanation of why I posted what I did. I'll try not to use too many big words:

When you posted "but yeah you are sooooooooooo much smarter than all these NFL guys who don't do it," you are implying that the NFL coaches don't do it out of choice. That's simply not a fact because they don't have a choice.

You see, that's what I was pointing out. I hope this time you were able to keep up.
LOL. Yeah right.

We're all still waiting on you to make your first intelligent post. Keep at it sparky, maybe you'll hit the jackpot one day.
Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

But you said most have quit the drill. That is false.

I found 41 schools in Spring drills doing it.

I believe several schools do it in the Spring, and sometimes early in Fall camp, but usually never past that and definitely not during game days. Is this not correct?

They do it in the fall and some before games. I've even seen it after games if a coach wants.

Pete Carroll ran Bulls Ring at USC where freshman circled an upper class man and tried to take him down.

Pedants always crack me up. I imagine this lightbulb going off in their heads as they come up with a response that is complete horse**** given the current context of the conversation, but viewed in a certain light under a full moon in the Southern Hemisphere could technically be interpreted as true. Here you in this thread:

Poster: Why does anyone care about Oklahoma Drill?
You: NO INE DOES THIS ANYMORE BECAUSE OF INJURIES YOU CANT FIND NFL OR MAJOR TEAMS THAT DO THIS. And certainly not before a game!
Mod: here's 41 teams that do it this year
You: but not before a game! Booom!!

That's what my 5 year old does. Here's you on Pete Carroll:

You: teams don't do this anymore. Are you really suggesting that NFL teams aren't physical? They can be physical without these type of injury inducing drills. Go look at Lete Carroll and get back to me.
Me: Pete Carroll ran a drill that's even more physical and injury inducing than what Rhule runs regularly when he was at USC. You clearly have no ididea a what's you're talking about.
You: name the exact link where I said Carroll didn't run this one drill.

Clearly, you're a football brain genius and I should engage with vigorous debate with you lol.

Blah blah blah

That is all you have. NO TEAMS DO THIS DRILL BEFORE A GAME.

But our amazing 1-11 coach with losses to Mighty powerhouses Liberty and UTSA does it therefore we must all kiss the BOR and Coaches backsides because it is awesome!!!!

Chanceux

The drill itself isn't a big problem. But if you're a coach working with a thin offensive and defensive line I'm not sure it's smart. Normally a team schedules a Liberty or UTSA for an easy win and to watch these kids and their technique with contact. I think Rhule was trying to weed out the guys who weren't giving it their all for whatever reason and that's a coaching call.

Pretty sure that the team voted to do the drill (it's not really the Oklahoma drill) before games.

Thanks.

After looking at these home-friendly numbers, I'm going out on a limb and predicting none of them get drafted.

I don't have a problem with the Oklahoma drills, but I do hate this notion that because we didn't do them previously that our teams were somehow soft. We had some pretty physical guys when Briles was here winning games.

Speaking of Briles. If we truly want to move on please have the people that make the promotional videos to stop mixing in Briles success with Rhule teams. He has had an entire year to get some highlights clearly he has a few noteworthy plays. I'm tired of seeing RG3 Petty and others who never played for Rhule on the promotional videos.

Last what the he'll is up with these proday results. In a years times our guys sure as he'll got slow
