How can we be sure we'll beat Texas Southern. First let me remind folks Liberty U & UTSA humiliation. Also Rhule "I'm just looking" will be coaching an NFL team by then. Still there is nothing wrong with try to set up a game against schools we have to fight with for recruitment.

Either you don't follow what is really happening with the team coaching and recruiting wise, or you're just trolling.

Starting in 2020, we will play 10 P5 games per year. That's better than almost every team in the SEC.

Still, I would prefer we schedule some better names from the G5 teams, like App State, Boise State, USF, UCF, SDSU, or SJSU. A decent competitor with some good recruiting grounds would be great. We can have a FCS game with a regional team, but matching that with an in state G5 just gets boring. Texas state & Texas Southern in the same month, or UTSA & UIW... how about UTSA & Georgia State or USF & Sam Houston State. SDSU and La Tech would be pretty good for recruiting Cali and Louisiana. I would really love to see us get more direct exposure into Florida and Georgia, as they are rich with talent.

I'm glad that we will have some good P5 games in the future, but I would really like to see some interesting games from our G5 and FCS games. If we can't get competitive, then maybe we're can get interesting instead of just playing tiny Texas teams like Abilene Christian, Texas southern, UIW, SFA, etc.; combined with G5 Texas teams like SMU, UTSA, Rice, Texas State, etc. I think one OOC Texas team is more than enough per season, and it would be great if we limited that to a school in a major recruiting city like DFW, Houston, or San Antonio. Each city had at least one G5 and at least one FCS.

Since our schedule is full until 2024, I think we should avoid UofH at all costs. After 5 years under Dana, that program will be pretty dang good. He was extremely competitive with far less talent, and now he is in one of the best recruiting grounds in the nation... yikes! But hey... there is always Rice.
