Matt Rhule Quote of the Week...

“I don’t, I think you probably know me well enough to know I don’t say those things. We haven’t had a lot of success when we’ve talked about ‘hey if we do this we get this’, last year I did that and we played really tight against Iowa State and TCU so we play way better when it’s been like let’s just go play and here’s what’s special about our players, I think we have, it’s the most competitive group of young people I’ve ever been around, I’ll probably start getting a bunch of calls from former players now but, saying what about me coach but, literally if at the end of a practice I said ‘I’m not sure who’s faster Tyquan [Thornton] or Boogie [Barnes], they would literally race for an hour but then [Josh] Fleeks would say ‘no I’m faster’ and then [Jackson] Gleeson would say ‘wait a minute, I ran this and I’, they would be out there racing for like an hour, Bravvion [Roy] would probably say ‘I’m the fastest guy over 300’, it’s amazing the competitive nature of our guys so what I found works with our players is just to say hey let’s go compete, to go to Kansas and play in that weather and there weren’t very many people in the stands, it was less people maybe than Rice, just cause of Thanksgiving, I’m not saying that in a disrespectful way, and our guys went out and competed and in the fourth quarter that defense wanted a fourth quarter shutout, J Will [Jordan Williams] was screaming at the guys that were out there playing and we finally stopped them at the two and got the fourth quarter shutout, just a competitive group so to me when I start talking about CFP, it becomes a whole bunch of stuff, when I say let’s go play, man, we have a special group of kids when we do that.”

** Matchup advantage decided by higher ranking between offensive and defensive statistical categories from Big 12 play only.

The Briles backers are coming out of the woodwork. I never understand why or how you have this kind of season and then want a new head coach after the current one just took this team to the doorstep of the CFP. Think about it. That's like saying I will marry Jennifer Aniston and then after a year you just change her out for Kate Upton. Whatever!

This is and was a great year albeit a disappointing day. But I'm sure nobody here thought this was going to OT after the 1st qtr.

Bad analogy those two aren't even close lol
OK, but as long as you get my point....I hope!!!

Haha I get your point of course

Why would you elect to be on defense first in overtime?
are you new to the sport?
I know the thought but our D needed a rest and we should have taken the ball first.

Gerry accounted for himself very well. I'm proud of how he played. That's a tough spot to be place in, yet the game did not seem too big for him.

Eh not really. The game definitely looked too big for him, and we're fortunate the successful passes he did make weren't picked off.

He's still a great athlete, but today showed he doesn't really look like the future for this squad.
It didn't look any bigger for Gerry than it did for Brewer, if one actually observed Baylor's first half offense. He certainly didn't take Baylor backwards compared to where he picked it up. He made some plays and kept Baylor in the game. He did better than most would expect.

No way it's not Charlie's team going into the bowl and Spring, for that there is no argument. He'll be mentioned in the same breath as RG3 for years to come. Zeno added a spark today but based on history, I would rather have had a clear headed CB down the stretch. He can make chicken salad out of chicken poop anytime. He's always been clutch and for fans to be calling for a change at QB, pending Brewer's health, is sickening and very shortsighted.
