In a deposition reviewed by OutKick, Cannon noted the Wall Street Journal article was published just weeks after Baylor hired G.F. Bunting. Cannon asked Murff if he realized that WSJ reporter Brad Reagan was a relative of Baylor vice president Reagan Ramsower, the administrator who oversaw the school's much-maligned campus police department. Murff claimed he did not know of the connection. Reagan was raised in Waco and once worked at the Waco-Tribune Herald. His late grandfather, Bud Trippet, served as Baylor's team doctor.

The above says it all about how this institution operates.

The root cause here isn't simply Art Briles, black football players, or Title IX.

The root cause is a board that's incapable of managing a university.
This is a pretty good post, TellMe. I agree. It was all about protecting the brand. God help us if the world outside of Baylor ever found out Baylor students were having sex before marriage!

It is hypocrisy at the highest level for the Board of Regents and/or administrators to claim that they are led by God and the teachings of the Bible, yet violate the 8th of the 10 commandments that "thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor". The Regents should repent for their sins, tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Telling partial truths is not lying, but if someone comes to a wrong conclusion for the partial truths spoken, then that is bearing false witness. Baylor needs to come clean.

Holy moly...Dr Trippet was team doctor when I was in school. It was generally thought that he was knife happy and to avoid him if possible. John Westbrook was one of his patients, and didn't play afterwards. He had some successes in Ramsey Munoz who came back to play in 6 weeks after full knee reconstruction.

Can someone please explain to me exactly how Brad Reagan is related to Reagan Ramsower? I have spoken to extended family members directly, and none have been able to tell me what that "family relationship" actually is.

I still have to chuckle that the head(pun intended) of the Baylor Board of Regents was quietly running a sex toy and male enhancement business while this all went down.

Good times.

List of all the Regents on the board at the time:

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/16231776/these-34-voting-members-baylor-board-regents

Clifton Robinson of course lives in Waco and is very involved still.

Jerry Clements is a partner with Locke Lord down in Austin.

Christopher Howard was on the board at the time and an ex- president of Robert Morris University. He resigned right after the scandal and got the hell off the board and away from Waco as soon as he could. I don't think he even picks up Baylor's phone calls anymore lol.

Mark Hurd's widow Paula is now on the BOR,

I don't think you missed something, I'm just curious why Ramsower hasn't disputed the suggested relationship? Ultimately my question is what exactly is this supposed relationship between the 2 individuals? I am not personally arguing there is one, or that there is not one.

As much as I love the spectacle, it's difficult for me to want to go to bat for a coach that threw a bowl game flirting with UT, and whose assistant coaches quit on their players.

Not excusing the board, which is the bigger problem, but Briles is really just in this for money.

Oh good grief! Get on with your lives or move to Mount Vernon. Quit trying to blame this ALL on Baylor administration.

Anybody in their right mind knows that if you work and represent Baylor you have to be extra squeaky clean.

Anybody in their right mind knows that if you coach 18-22 year old football players that you have to review Baylor Do's & Don'ts often.

Anybody in their right mind knows that if you are going to bring some kids onto Baylor campus who have had some "behavioral issues" prior that you need to babysit them and teach them the Baylor Laws.

Anybody in their right mind knows that if you flirt and court another Big 12 job that you keep it 100% under the wraps. Ego!

Hell, for a nominal consulting fee I would have coached Art on how to play and abide by the Baylor Game! I would have also assigned a Ray Donovan to keep watch over those we all knew were potential flashes.

Yep . That certainly was not a problem with Reedy, Roberts, Steele, or Morriss. Those guys were do or die Green and Gold!!!!!

I do appreciate Briles keeping overzealous alums with "hot" prospects away so we did not violate NCAA rules.
