You are right that it is old news. Unfortunately, the story that was pushed was that Art covered up for rapists, and that the Baylor football team was raping women right and left. It is nice to have someone publish an article calling them out on their bs.

I do find it interesting that the WSJ reporter is related to Ramsower. I thought he was a stuck up jerk before the scandal. I served on a committee with him once, and he was dismissive of everyone who wasn't someone on it. I had always wondered how he kept his job when he was over the Baylor Police and Title IX at Baylor.

The only way to make this right is for Baylor to hold a press conference and publicly apologize to Briles. They will not do this though because they care more about perception than what is right. That is the root of the whole scandal anyway. They wanted to ignore that Baylor had a problem just like every other university, and they especially wanted to protect the image of their rich, white boys. They blamed the problems on the black football players and their renegade coach.

I did not know the WSJ reporter was related to Ramsower. I did recognize that he had been a Trib sports reporter in the 90s. It is interesting his last name is Reagan. Isnt that Ramsower's first name like it is a family name maybe? You could be correct.

We've known the truth, but until the Leaders of Baylor, BOR and President, strongly defend our team and coaches, the perception won't change. They won't do that because they purposely lied and used that false narrative to protect and shield themselves from the penalties they deserved.

May Art Briles coach at the highest level again one day soon, just not in the Big 12.

I said all along that our BOR was the problem here. They were so quick to hire lawyers and PR people, that they did not find out the truth. They paid $16,000,000 to the best coach we ever had to go away. If he was the issue, there is no way they would have paid that amount of money. I hope CAB is able to get a good college or pro job and am sure that this is the first step to getting to the truth. The first rule in crisis management is to get the truth out quickly and deal with it. I am glad we have a new adminisrtation and president. Coach Matt Rhule was great for Baylor and we are moving in the right direction. I am just still so upset at our previous board. I am sure that it will be awhile before they ride in the homecoming parade again.

A lot of them are still on the board, including a couple of the key members of the WSJ attack.

Mark Roundtree, Jennifer Elrod, Shelly Giglio, Cary Gray, Larry Heard, Dan Hord III, Neal Jeffrey, Mark Lovvorn, Julie Turner and Dennis Wiles were all on the BOR. Mark Hurd's widow Paula is now on the BOR,

Were these current holdover in solid and silent minority (keeping its head down hoping to get control from the idiot someday) back then? Have they changed views? Are they chameleons? Quite strange.

In my opinion, black athletes dating white girls was not looked upon very highly by the leadership at Baylor in the 1960s. Not much had changed leading up to 2015. Have we made any progress the last five years? I hope so.

Neal Jeffrey was very vocal. Hopefully, just being used for his street cred. He, along with all the others , painted all of Art's 320 players over 8 seasons with the broad brush of ridicule, guilt and blame without proof.

He rarely gives anyone outside the SEC the time day, other than an occasional reach to Michigan and Ohio St. Why is he suddenly interested in Baylor and Art Briles from 4 years ago other than he recently hired Jason King?

Art was becoming more powerful than the BOR. Baylor was more well known, wealthier and more successful than ever, and the BOR underhandedly took out it's greatest asset in order to shield itself from discovery.

They all walked away from Art when pepper Hamilton showed them the big red video. That was the nail in his coffin.

The root cause is a board that's incapable of managing a university.
