I really like Aranda. I think with a normal non covid year, he's going to be much more impressive than Rhule.

Why not? Texas is about to pay Herman $25M and he has had fewer black eyes than Art got and gave Baylor.Timbear said:

Dennis Wyles? Did you cry out to God, Pastor? Or at least run out to the press and tell people that you did? I've seen how you behave on the other board. Quite a representative of the cloth.
His comments were self interested and harmful to the University, exactly the opposite of what a fiduciary should be doing.

That's from Cannon, Briles' counsel. So who knows if it's true. Is that in any court doc? Even if it was, it wasn't Murff's decision alone. Also, that could have been Murff's opinion, but it wasn't the independent PH finding. To my knowledge, nothing in the PH summary has been disproven.Robert Wilson said:The allegations were made by the people who publicly smeared Briles, the coaching staff, and our team. BOR is sick.
There was no proof of it when it was made years ago and there's no proof of it now.
Outkick is trying to revise history.
You have flipped the burden of proof, as if it was on the coaches and players. Nice try.
If your alleging racism, you have to prove it.
Besides, you and others STILL don't understand why Briles was fired. The main reason why he was fired was his mishandling of Title IX complaints. This has NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE.
It doesn't matter than only one player was convicted.
It doesn't matter that many of the charges may have been false.
These are red herrings.
What matters is that complaints weren't properly handled. If you go back and read the PH report, that's what you find.
What matters is that the university as a whole didn't handle these complaints properly.
If we hadn't fired Briles, we would be enjoying an NCAA death penalty right now.So Murff swears under oath that to his knowledge Briles never broke any rules or university procedures when it came to handling and reporting assault or sexual assault allegations. Yet you claim he was fired for mishandling Title IX complaints. What does that tell you? Can you even figure it out?Quote:

Cannon asked [Former Baylor BOR Chair Ron] Murff if Briles ever broke any rules or violated a university procedure when it came to his handling and reporting of assault allegations.
"No sir, not that I'm aware of," Murff said.
Cannon asked if Briles had concealed any information regarding sexual or domestic assaults by his players.
"No sir, not that I'm aware of," Murff said.

I am in no position to evaluate the man's candor. I also do not find it to be particularly relevant. He had absolutely no business giving that interview and saying the things that he said. There were so many moments surrounding that entire process that just screamed amateur hour it blew my mind..

It was Murff's sworn deposition, you dolt. Murff was the chair of the BOR. He was privy to everything in the PH report. Yet Murff swore under oath he had no knowledge of Briles violating any university procedure in handling any physical assault or sexual assault claim. Yet you say he was fired for Title IX violations. I swear you're dumb as a stump. The rest of your stuff doesn't get any better.George Truett said:That's from Cannon, Briles' counsel. So who knows if it's true. Is that in any court doc? Also, if this is true, why has no one else hired him? It should be a simple matter to prove his innocence.
And why hasn't Briles sued, if he's been so unjustly treated? Seems like I remember he tried, but gave up on it.
We've litigated this among us forever and come to no consensus on it.
It's a different BOR now and they've made a lot of positive changes. But was a university-wide failure on Title IX. If anything, things were too cozy between the BOR and football, so people turned a blind eye to failures in the program.

A $15M payoff, statements under oath disavowing wrong doing , letters from the BOR disavowing wrong doing. This was a multi-layered conspiracy involving a BOR cover-up, the old Alumni Association, UT and Oklahoma getting beaten by Art consistently and wanting him out. Even Saban and other coaches wanted the Spread O banned for "safety" reasons , and now it's taken over all of college and Pros. There was talk of the Big 12 splitting up while Art was kicking tail, but now that he's gone, no more of that talk. He changed football.

I think Briles was protecting his coaching staff. I think he took the blame and moved on. It is interesting to notice that several of his coaching staff have moved on to good positions in college ball. I remember Drayton McLane offered a reword to any one that could produce information about Briles guilt and I do not think anyone did so.George Truett said:If he thought he was innocent and had proof of it, why would he settle for that?PartyBear said:

You guys can keep stirring this, but absolutely nobody cares about this other than a small group of fans. The BOR is not going to apologize. Briles is never going to be coaching in any way at a major university ever. No article from minor online sports site or posting here is going to change these facts.
What will continue will be the lawsuit by the women whose complaints were mishandled by BU. Those of you who are Briles supporters who think having all the PH docs out there will be somehow helpful to him aren't seeing reality. If anything, they will make him look worse.
