Roberto's - I wanted to bring a new restaurant to your attention. I'm excited to say that Roberto's located at the edge of the "grease pit" across I-35 (921 S. 9th street).
For those of you not familiar with the San Diego-based franchise, you are in for a treat! The serve authentic southern California burritos and other item. They are one of the best in SD. I try to get one each time I go visit. There carne asada is amazing. I spoke with the owner on Saturday. They don't have beer YET, but they are working on getting their license.
Please note that these are authentic So-Cal burritos, not your traditions Tex-Mex burritos. I usually get the California Burrito, which is carne asada, french fries, and cheese wrapped in a giant tortilla (don't knock it until you've tried it.)
Jorge's (Sammy's new Tex-Mex place) - My son spoke with a girl that been hired on their as a server. She stated that they are in training now and should open in about two weeks or so. I'm guessing that they will use the same reservation services that George's uses. Most of us know what it's like the first few weeks an exciting new restaurant opens in Waco.
