Their guards and Manek beat us. We couldn't defend the 3 in the halfcourt.

This is the most succinct description of what I saw at the game. With all the focus on UNC's size, ironically we got beat by the shortest player on their team. Well, him and the mop headed transfer kid from OU.

This will always be the season of What Could Have Been. It was so gutwrenching that I didn't even want to stay for the KU-Creighton game.
Manek was MURDERING Flo on the roll. He just isn't athletic enough to close that out. I 100% believe if we have JTT, he sticks to Manek like glue and we run these guys out if the gym

That and our best 3 point shooter sat on the bench i street clothes.

All that said we missed enough layups akd wide open looks that it was there for the taking.

If Flagler could have buried that other FT we could have won too. So many chippies missed

They were beating the defending national champions by 25. That's a major story. Once we made our run, they got super excited about that.

Our fans are the most thin-skinned bunch on the planet.

Fair enough. But "on-air team" is a fairly nebulous phrase, no? And others have complained about the broadcast crew.

Just like we need terms limits from Politicians, we need the same thing for Refs. Some of these guys just can't keep up with the pace of the game.
This. I retired at 46 because I knew I had to be in position to make the call. A lot of officials stay on longer than they are really able to do the job, and the teams pay for that.

Yeah on air means the ones on air doing the game

I hope he realizes one of those studio hosts is a UNC Hall of Famer.

And no one should take what Kenny or Charles say seriously. Those guys are entertainers this time of year. They're not experts or even pundits.

All I know is that all Friday evening and all Saturday morning I kept hearing CBS and ESPN people talk up UNC and talk down Baylor.

The defending National Champs deserve better than that.

Scott Drew deserves better than that.

UNC had the defending national champs down 25 after 30 minutes. The talking heads were right.

Who has ignored anything? But when the two teams were trying to execute their halfcourt game plans, one dominated the other on both ends of the floor.

I'm thankful that we had the personnel and heart to get back into the game with the press, but we were outclassed in every imaginable area before that. All of the things that pundits would have pointed to as reasons for this being a tough matchup for Baylor were 100 percent correct.

The talking heads said that would be a tough matchup for Baylor. It was ... for all of the reasons they said it would be. Rallying from 25 down to get the game to overtime when you were favored by 5.5 doesn't disprove anything.

But stay salty.

Great find. What are the narratives that has been repeated quite a bit is that he never should've been ejected. If this is a pattern for him then it was justified.

In March Madness, you can't have a deep run with 3 injured top players. Baylor did great.

Heck he'd have found out by middle of 2nd half if refs hadn't swallowed the whistle 1st half.
in fairness, the same was true in the second half of Mayer. He could have had about 10 fouls called.

The refs protected both of those guys, and the game was better for it.
Am I to understand refs are to protect players? As for first 1st half fouls. They completely took us out of the game. Put a lot of pressure on Drew to sit players in early foul trouble. As a result, the flow of the game and player packages were disrupted. Our early missed 3 didn't help. In total fairness, had refs called NC reach-ins then both teams should have been in the bonus 1sr half. For me the seasons over.
