I'm at the game and the officiating has been really awful.

I almost hope he takes the medical redshirt. There's going to be a significant amount of rust on his game, and I think it'll take almost a half season to get back to approximating his former self.

I don't know about you guys, but I really liked the Gonzaga game where the refs swallowed the whistles on both sides and let them play a physical game without stopping it every 5 seconds.

Turner. Hmm?

The thing that's still gotta sink into this team's heads is that they can't get away with soft, lazy passes at this level. Athletes are too fast for that kind of stuff.

Turner and Bridges in a 2-on-2, first team to 20 wins, get obliterated.

I don't remember us dominating anyone on the boards this year like tonight.

Bears with 41 boards vs Tarleton with 21

They need to go through one of those decision simulations to retrain their mind. George and Bonner just can get so lackadaisical with the ball.

Bridges with a wide open 3. I let you figure out if it went in or not

I used to say Flo at the FT line was the equivalent of a TO.

Now I'm starting to think Bridges from 3 is the equivalent of a TO.

I'll take 7-2 heading into finals break. Really hoping Flagler and Cryer are back at 100% for Washington St on the 18th

Great win. With two guys out just coming out with a win is huge. But Drew needs to take one practice and strictly focus on crisp passing, solid secure dribbling keeping the ball lower, and ball security in the paint

Love got his 20. I like that.

I agree. I don't want him to waste a year on a few regular season games and maybe a tourney run.

Fran said during one of our games earlier this season that he was told not to expect JTT back this season.

Officials must have thought they were members of an orchestra playing PDQ Bach! They were blowing their whistles like they were musical instruments.

Yep, I mentally prepared for a 2 year process the day he went down. Even if he somehow is medically cleared to return by conference, he would be a shell of his former self only a calendar year removed from such a catastrophic injury. We are talking multiple torn kness ligaments, not a clean ACL tear.

Our staff will work on it, but turnovers are going to be an issue all year I'm afraid. We have no true PG so we simply don't have the personnel in the backcourt to respond well to pressure. We can expect even more pressure from opponents with the Marquette game and now this game on tape. And our turnover problem is compounded by our horrible transition defense. Our staff has an uphill battle to fix multiple issues.

The game was poorly officiated.....period. And give credit to Billy Clyde for that. His philosophy is to be very aggressive. Body contact, reach and grab, etc. Sooner or later the refs get tired of blowing their whistle. Last night was no exception.

If you were at the game, you noticed that the refs seemed to call two different games. Many of the fouls called on us just were not called at the other end. One of the calls on Lohner was the worst. He just put is hands straight up with no elevation. The only contact was the Tarleton player jumping into him. But a shooting foul was called on Lohner. I thought Coach Drew was gonna loose it. Very seldom have I seen him so displeased with the refs.

Tarleton hand checked all over the floor and was never called. Just poor officiating.

I agree and I'm surprised that is one of the first times I've heard it mentioned. The transition defense is terrible. The coaches fully understand this.

On the ball handling thing, with Love coming around I would have Love and George practice taking the ball up carefully without worrying about making a play on the initial pass. Just focus on initiating the offense cleanly.

No college teams have a third stud on ball guy typically. Maybe Tenn but Tex and Uh don't. That would release the pressure valve a ton.

Texas Tech, Texas, and Houston employ this exact strategy and it works on the college level . So great practice. Ultra aggressive and they either get used to it or tired of calling it.

Does Jonathan only have one year eligibility left? If so, he should take a full year next year. It seems like exceptions have been made for severely injured players in the conference for getting additional time. If he is medically cleared to play end of season, he shouldn't have to sacrifice his remaining college eligibility.

Was that when Lohner fouled out? I thought that call was so bogus. He was a victim of poor officiating. At least by that time we had a comfortable lead & there was little time on the clock.
