I knew there would be a good amount of them but they had some great seats
There's probably a way to treat visitors well without giving them the best seats in your gym. That sounded like an Arkansas home game at several points throughout the game.Stefano DiMera said:
I'm confused...other schools treat visitors crappy...so we should to?
Low IQ response. Not surprised.Stefano DiMera said:

This has nothing to do with the Baylor fan base. The athletic department allowed a large visiting group into the arena before it opened the gym to anyone else. In a general admission setting, that's a problem.EvilTroyAndAbed said:
Y'all are talking like you don't know anything about the Baylor fan base. This is who we are.
It's GA above the walkway every game I think, although some season ticket holders sit above that too.RiskyBizz Bear said:
Was general admission for this game only?
Or is that now the case all the time?
Seems like a strange (and probably stupid) setup if you want any kind of home court advantage.

Baylor fans were waiting to enter while visiting fans were allowed by the university to snatch up prime seats.

To be fair, there were a number of Hogs fans in line 90 minutes prior to tip, but not in the numbers that would give them the best GA seats down low.
Huge charter buses with the Cowboys star arrived about 90 minutes before tip. They let them in the media entrance before BBF members and season seat holders. Some had reserved seats, some GA.
Our SID had a smartass answer that it is "standard operating procedure." Well, genius, its not standard to have General Admission in most P5 venues.
For the Monday game against the birds, doors opened well before the announced "one hour before tipoff." It's a mystery what you're going to get with our athletic department - apparently varying game by game - but you can be certain we treat the visitors much better than BU fans would be treated in an opposing venue.
There needs to be a set % of required attendance to retain your season tickets. Screw these people who are sitting on tickets each year and only attend a few games. Let folks who are willing to come support the team for ALL the games access to these tickets. If you are not able to attend, the tickets then go back to a Baylor pool for BU fans to purchase/claim. Our ticket office doesn't get it. They need to fire a few people and start over.

Don't ever discuss anything with them via phone, keep it to email.
This is Rhoades responsibility, he needs to fix it.

They didn't "get there early." They were let in before waiting Baylor fans.Stefano DiMera said:
Ok whatever..I don't see how Baylor is responsible for season ticket holders selling their tickets to Hog fans .
General Admission are not 'good seats ' in Ferrell..so if they get there early how are you going to refuse them seat
Welcome to basketball in Texas. The University of Texas -- an institution with almost 52,000 students and more than 570,000 living alums, now has a 10,000-seat basketball arena.EvilTroyAndAbed said:bear2be2 said:This has nothing to do with the Baylor fan base. We have a national championship program. We have a 10,000 seat arena, and we never sell it out. It's all on the fan base.

Good reason to have a smaller arena.
Question: With the smaller arena and Baylor being a private school, is there any way, using technology, to require season ticket holders to either use them or notify the athletic department who they have given them to?
It doesn't seem unreasonable to be able to prohibit ticket holders from selling their tickets. I understand not being able to prohibit a ticket holder from giving tickets to whoever they want, but is it possible to prohibit them from selling them on the internet?
Just a question.
This has been true since I've followed Baylor athletics (late 80s). They view the majority of Baylor fans as peasants.TellMeYouLoveMe said:Everything in this post is true.Big12Bear said:

The attitude of the Athletic Department employees I spoke with was IMO unprofessional.
Our leaders just flush money down the drain and our coaches even notice it.
This is a pretty good summary, but I'll add a couple of things. There is a thread on the premium board - I think it's at 8 pages now with comments on this. David Kaye, to his credit, responded today and acknowledged that there were opportunities to improve but was adamant that only the Arkansas travel party got in early. What happened was many of them grabbed the best GA seats and saved seats for others that didn't have the early entry. It looks like the Cowboys bus crew were the beneficiaries of the saved GA seats. He kind of portrayed this situation as blown out of proportion, but that's easy to say when you don't have to bust your ass and run the gauntlet for a decent seat. Again, I appreciate David responding to the concerns in the premium thread, and Im not trying to fan any flames, but someone sent me a private message and asked that I post in this thread.Big12Bear said:

I wouldn't call it a nothing burger by any stretch. Definitely a frustrating situation and mistakes that gave prime seats to Arkansas fans over Baylor fans. I'm just saying they acknowledged this situation and not much else we can do at this point.Stefano DiMera said:
Thanks for the update..as usual with this board it was much ado about nothing...
We won..our crowd was loud and looked good on TV.. nothing burger..
