When I hear that he is not getting an increase in NIL , I will buy his explination
I don't get what's hard to buy. Cryer is like 6-1. He has no hope whatsoever of playing in the NBA as a 6-1 shooting guard. He has slightly more hope as a 6-1 player who can also play point.
This is all about carving out a pro future, not maximizing one-year NIL earnings. If he can do both, great. But he's got to prove that his game translates to the professional ranks.
Drew is one of the top college coaches out there today. Baylor has a top rated program and produced a number of NBA front court players over the last few years. So as a player, you want to leave this situation ?? I agree he is not likely an NBA player, European league likely. In the NBA, you have to play defense, maybe he should concentrate on that first. If he had skills at point, don't you think Drew would have recognized it and given him a shot ? He spends enormous amounts of time with these guys and understands what they can and cannot do.
These young guys always see themselves as NBA talent, even when the numbers tell them that VERY few actually make it. NIL money for many will be the largest payday from basketball they ever get.
