How Much Offense Should Baylor Basketball Sacrifice for Defense?
It’s hard to overstate how much Baylor’s defense hampered it last season. The Bears finished 107th in adjusted defensive efficiency. Among the top 28 in the final KenPom rankings, nobody else ranked outside of the top 100 on either side of the ball. And in the top 38 teams, only Iowa State on offense also had a sub-100 ranking on offense or defense.
The lesson is that it’s nearly impossible to build a winner with one side so bad.
