He gives me Davion Mitchell vibes which is a VERY good thing!
Nunn is a poor defender and Davion was elite. But offensively, yes.
Nunn has that same quick first step / burst off the dribble, which reminds me of Davion. We would iso Davion so he could take his defender off the bounce and we are doing that more and more with Nunn. Free throw improvement would be a bonus given how Nunn seeks and draws contact. If Nunn stays hot from 3, look out!
While he has some obvious weaknesses in our switching man scheme, I wouldn't call Nunn a poor defender -- he's quite good, for instance, at the top of our zone. But I'd agree that he's not in Mitchell's stratosphere on that end of the court. In fairness, though, almost no one is.
The only other small quibble I'd have with your post is that Nunn has been consistently good from 3 this season. He's been a 40 percent 3-point shooter pretty much all year. Even when he was struggling in other areas offensively, I always felt comfortable with him taking open 3s. In fact, I was wanting him to focus more on being a spot up shooter and to be more confident letting it fly. That's one part of his game I've been pleasantly surprised by and consistently impressed with.
