Anyone know anything about his injury last night? I always fear the worst but hoping for the best. It was a real downer to such a great win last night

Obviously you don't want injuries to any of our players, but Love is arguably the last guy on this team you want to lose for any period of time.

Yup he's our 2nd best player by a wide margin. He's going to win 6th man award.
Not to mention it depletes our guard depth. Little simply isn't good enough to play extended minutes

There was never a clear video replay but the look on his face showed he knew it was something serious. It could be even more than a sprain and could end his season. Even if *just* a sprain he couldn't put weight on it. Hoping he makes it back for the big 12 tournament. I will be thrilled and pleasantly surprised if before then.

I agree and is what I am worried about. This is a huge blow and could potentially change the trajectory of our entire season

It's not a could change. It's a would change. We have zero guard depth beyond him. He's also our 2nd most dependable guard. We would be screwed. At least from a perspective of making a run in March

CSD said in post-game that he wasn't worried about LL.

CSD is also notoriously coy when talking about injuries, but I think, at the very least, this didn't sound like something that would end his season.

He rolled his ankle right? That's what the replay looked like to me.

Big loss while he is down. He is one of our better rim attackers and 3 point shooter.

See I thought it was his knee. My first thought was maybe a hypertension. But I can't find a clear video. Ankle injuries are always always better than knee injuries

Yeah Scott almost laughed it off postgame saying he's a tough kid and he doesn't worry about him.

It looked like a knee to me and not an ankle as the knee kinda buckled as it was straight when he landed.

In one of the tv replays, I thought I saw him grab his ankle at one point while he was down on the floor.

Good info. I've been trying to find replays but no such luck.

For sure it wasn't his acl leg, right?

Been stressed out all morning about his injury l, as ridiculous as that might seem. He is so bought into this program and is more about his long term prognosis than just the next couple of weeks. I too thought it was a knee with landing on his leg without any flex. An ankle can be a nagging injury, but often can be played through if isn't a high ankle issue.
Sucks that we have such a tough stretch coming up. Time for Miro to step up and get some experience. He certainly won't give us what Love did but provides some good length and some offense. At least Nunn is showing some offense.

This is correct. He was definitely grabbing in the ankle region and not his knee.

During the broadcast, they showed a replay from behind the basket and the bottom of the screen was cutoff so I couldn't see his foot fully, but it seemed like an ankle. I didn't see any buckle in the knee (i.e. hyperextension) and tearing a ACL from landing on your foot isn't something you normally see.

Not to mention, how many times have you seen someone tear something in their knee and sit there that casually? Usually guys are rolling around on the ground holding their knee or pounding the ground. Not necessarily because of the pain, but because they felt/heard the pop in their knee so they know it's bad, or at least, that was my experience.

We'll see what the official word is, but I'm be more concern about high vs. low ankle sprain.

What's the incentive for us to announce anything? Let KU guess in their preparation.

You can tear an ACL and not be in a lot of pain. Your leg just doesn't have any strength. You can tear it just by landing. But you can usually put weight on it if its the only knee injury.

An ankle HURTS and if its torn bad enough you can't put weight on it. It could be 2 to 3 weeks or much longer and require surgery. They'll announce a surgery. Anything short of that they'll just keep listing him day to day.

I don't think Bill is sweating it much. If we go zone he will tear it apart. He has always been able to work our zone pretty easily, although his personnel is more limited this year. They looked tired and uninspired against K St.

If Missi can keep out of foul trouble we have a shot, but will be incredibly hard without Love which I am assuming is likely.

I remember our football team had a kicker who tore his ACL in pregame warmups (bowl game?) & managed to play through the game, not knowing exactly what it was until after. Granted, a kicker doesn't play as many minutes as most starters but it was pretty amazing, as I recall.

Just watched the replay again a few times. It does look like he grabbed his ankle. Based on the way he landed, it looked like his foot/ankle everted (rolled outward) a bit when he landed (most ankle sprains are inversions.) An eversion at the foot/ankle can also stress the medial (inside) region of the knee joint - sometimes causing stress to the MCL and possibly the ACL. His knee was bent when he landed which is a good thing.

Hopefully just a tweak.

Surprised there hasn't been an update regarding his condition today.

Keep KU guessing maybe?

This is very encouraging. Does not sound like a long-term issue.

It would be great if he could play tomorrow… But I'm more concerned about the rest of the year.

This is how Drew rolls. Can't remember the player from last year maybe Cryer?? Who was a GameTime decision for like 2 weeks straight.
Doubt he plays but this at least tell us it's not a serious injury that ends his season and that's great news

Let him rest and rehab. Loosing to KU won't kill us but not having LL down the stretch and loosing those games we should've won, that's a bad deal.

That is kind of where I am also. Losing to Kansas on the road won't ding us at all.

I totally agree. He will be needed the rest of the season. We cannot afford to loose him.

It's spelled "l-o-s-I-n-g". Not "l-o-o-s-i-n-g".

"Losing" is the opposite of winning. "Loosing" is the opposite of tightening.

Anyway, I also agree with not playing him against KU if he's not at least 90%, but I also hope this doesn't turn into an L.J Cryer type situation where he's "a game time decision" for weeks on end.

You typically don't capitalize a letter in the middle of a word either. It would look more like "losing" not "losIng " …who cares

often referred to as a Quality loss. At least ut makes proper use of them.

Yes, same with Flagler injury. In Drew-speak game time decision means he's out.

It also means he didn't have surgery, which is huge. Probably is the ankle and not the knee.
