The fact that "everybody else does it" is no justification, even if true. One would hope that Baylor sets a higher stander and behaves better than others.

Do we really want to be like Texas or TCU fans???

If you really think it's just Texas and TCU you're being naive. Maybe we just tell the students to be quiet all game. To hell with creating a HC advantage. We need to appease the thin skinned folk on here whose feelings are hurt.
The uproar over fans rattling a guy (who shouldn't be playing anyways) is just silly. "no means no"and "17" are NOT malicious… much much much much worse things could have been chanted but weren't

If you want to be pissed, be pissed that Tech continues to play him. Win at all costs.
BU is doing what EVERY fanbase would do. Why that makes some of you mad is rather confusing.
If you don't like I'd probably mute BU home games. Because I doubt the students give a crap that their chants hurt your feelings
I have he ability to be upset with more than one thing at the same time.

If I have a bad neighbor, worse than me, it doesn't mean I can't work on myself.

BYU has a great home court advantage without resorting to No Means No which, happens to be what was yelled at our players.
But they showed Horns Down, which in some circles is much, much worse.

It's already been established that students don't have to be morons to create a home court advantage. BYU manages to create one of the best home court experiences in the country without doing so. And when their students do cross the line, they police themselves and hold each other accountable.

There are lots of ways to be loud and make opponents uncomfortable without using rape as a prop in your trash talk. It's silly and lazy to suggest otherwise.

If you're soooooo offended mute the TV. Crying on here isn't gonna change a thing

As best as I can tell, no one's crying. Just pointing out how stupid and childish it is to turn rape allegations into a fan chant ... and that's to say nothing of doing so while attending a university widely and derisively described as Rape U.

It's stupid. Plain and simple. You can defend it if you want. I'll always call out nonsense for what it is.

Those are only examples. Almost everyone does it. That was never a justification for anything.

Your next statement is ridiculous. The students can make all kinds of noise and do everything to harass the opposing team without being classless about it. I have no problem with horns down when Texas comes to town. It's a matter of degree.

It's also hypocritical of Baylor fans to taunt another team about something scandalous in light of our own real basketball scandal 20 years ago and the fake football scandal less than 10 years ago. I remember lots of Baylor fans complaining about how our athletes were treated by opposing teams at the time.

This is why Baylor fans get made fun of. We have all these old *****s who wont even stand at a game because they don't want to offend the person behind them

Would it be appropriate to shout "no means no" at Trevor Bauer?

Yep.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

And it would be just as wrong as it was when we did it. In America i thought we were innocent until proven guilty.

She was 17 and there's no denial of having sex, just whether it was consensual.

Legal? Yes. Deserving of ridicule? Undoubtedly.

They're freaking playing a guy while he's being accused of rape. We sat anyone if accused, not convicted. Don't have pity on a scumbag getting a tiny repercussion from away fans for possibly screwing up someone else's life while his school looks the other way because he's good at basketball. He wouldn't even be on the team anymore at Baylor.

I'm all for boos. The louder the better.

I can do without the shouts of "no means no" and "17, 17, 17" or whatever.

Those shouts, as a group, make us hypocrites along with all the fans we despised for getting onto our football players. I don't want to be lumped in with them.

I completely disagree. Nobody ever chanted at a single Baylor player that had been accused of anything because we didn't play any. We SHOULD let the accused guy know he shouldn't be on the court. These are two completely different types of chants.

They'll shrug it off. And they should. Allegation doesn't mean guilt, especially when there aren't even any criminal charges.
