I don't seriously expect the real bracket to look much like this one. There are still lots of games to be played & these early brackets rarely resemble the real ones, especially when it gets to the details.

I'm pretty sure Kim Mulkey made some noise about it. We beat them 3 times that year then lost during the tourney on their way to a natty.

The women's side still schedules matchups to get viewers. They don't have to do that on the men's side

Men's teams are placed so that if they've met 3 times they don't meet again till regional finals...two times regional semifinals..and once the second round.

I feel like this is almost a litmus test for a person's outlook on life, but give me Joy Division and the half-empty cup.

I used to listen to Love Will Tear Us Apart quite a bit as part of the excellent Donnie Darko soundtrack, which is full of similarly themed new wave tracks and a killer, somber cover of Tears for Fears' Mad World.

When I was a kid in the 1970s for some reason I liked that song by Captain & Tennille. I don't know why because I probably haven't listened to it since then. I think I still have it in a 45 somewhere!

And to be honest, I couldn't tell if your Love Will Find A Way reference is to the song by Pablo Cruise or the one by Yes. I much prefer the Yes song, but you're the one who posted, so I can't steal any thunder by claiming one way or the other.

Aside from the uncharacteristic struggles with turnovers in Lawrence, we've been playing much better basketball the past two or three weeks. It's reflected in the win-loss record, but it's the improved level of play that has me encouraged.

This team is getting closer to its potential -- and is doing so at a good time in the year.

I was pretty down on this bunch after the TCU loss at home, but I've been really proud of how it has responded since then. I've always felt good about this team's talent, especially relative to the field this year. But I'm starting to feel better and better about its mental toughness and fortitude.

Agreed. Definitely have more confidence in the team. From Drew's coaching adjustments with zone to the improvement of Missi/Nunn to the general attitude. Lots of things trending in the right direction. If Love can come back quick, with an up-and-down field this year, we are in good shape.

I feel like Nunn was always the wild card with our eventual improvement and ceiling. We can't have him be a negative offense presence on the floor and he has proven that he can step up and play at another level. His ability to drive has been there from day one, but his ability to play smarter and finish better has dramatically improved. Early in the season he would drive erratically and get to the rim and take a bad shot. Now he is doing a better job staying under control and looking for contact. He is probably our best option at driving to the basket and he has the first step to get there quickly. Like multiple posters have pointed out, Love is the player that we need to get from a Top 20 team to a top 10 team. His shooting and rebounding are so important for a 2-3. I think we need him to win at BYU and if we do we have a great shot at winning the conference.
