An ISU loss would open the door for us to potentially finish 2nd.
We just need to find a way to finish in the top 4. Get that double bye in KC.

Didn't Pickens' trust leave something like $200 million specifically earmarked for the basketball program?
My main fear with picking Iowa St to go far in the NCAA is that they can get just absolutely putrid on offense from time to time. As good as the D is, Iowa St. could get shot out of the tournament by a really good shooting matchup.IowaBear said:
I'll go on record now. UCF will upset ISU Saturday
Boynton's defensive track record speaks for itself -- this season notwithstanding. But his teams are brutal to watch on the offensive end.DanaDane said:
Oklahoma St is a poorly coached basketball squad. So many basic fundamental mistakes. People can try to convince me all they want that Boynton knows what he's doing but 7 years of facts say he doesn't. Maybe a good recruiter, but I'm not even sure that's true. Not sure why Ok State has completely thrown away its pride in basketball.

What's Boynton's buyout? Can they afford it?
A coach who works with his staff to only coach one end of the court is called an assistant coach, which is what he should be in a P6 world. He's shown it now for 7 years, with only 1 trip to the dance to show for it. And, even then, he barely got that even though he had arguably one of the best of the 1-and-done eras. Still can't figure out why a program of Ok State's stature would hire him with no head coaching experience.bear2be2 said:Boynton's defensive track record speaks for itself -- this season notwithstanding. I don't necessarily disagree. I'm hoping he'll be on our staff to help fix our defense next season.DanaDane said:A coach who works with his staff to only coach one end of the court is called an assistant coach, which is what he should be in a P6 world. I have no doubt he's a nice guy. I can't figure out whether he gets the pass for being that, or if it's just that Ok State can't afford to buy him out. He would have been gone a year or two ago almost anywhere else. Maybe he should be an assistant again specializing in defense. But, he'll likely get a mid major job once he's ultimately canned at Ok State. The sad thing for them is that there couldn't have been more than 2,000 people in the stands at the game tonight, or actually for most of their games this season.
