This guy a point guard? Is Wright ready to be a plug and play starting point guard?
We really need another point guard as we're extremely heavy on the two guard position and unless Wright is ready to start in big 12 play as the primary point guard I worry about that position next year.
I will say Carlyle had a lot of buzz this year about his defense, so it's hard to turn that down if he's available. Having 6 guards who can play serious minutes would be huge for us.
This, again, assumes that Miro either won't develop this offseason or will be gone. He's a point guard. I'd rather roll with Miro and Wright at the point next year and build toward something than grab another short-term transfer and be in the exact same situation next offseason.
And I would only even want a long-term transfer like the kid listed here if Scott Drew doesn't believe the two guys above are up to the task.
This guy has 3 years of eligibility, so I view this very much as a Jalen Bridges type transfer in regards to his expectations of sticking around .
I absolutely assume Miro will be here next year, but what I saw from him this year says he's going to slide into that Love position of first guard off the bench. It will be wonderful to bring a point guard off the bench for the first time in years.
Unless Little makes some insane jump in the summer I'm not sure he screams starting point guard yet. That's no knock against the guy, he should be a starter by his junior year.
All that to say if you're looking at Little and Wright off the bench, that gives you starters of: Nunn, Love, and VJ. Josh O or a transfer center and then you've got this question how do you fill that next spot, Nunn and Love I worry about eating into each other's game it's very much the same type of style they play. Neither is an amazing facilitator they're both solid iso or kick and shoot guards. The roster next year really needs a true point guard. The flip side of that is you do need some height going what is 3 guards and one undersized forward in VJ would be an interesting look.
