Drew fits at Baylor. But Drew will be fine at UK, he'll win, but if he's not in the final 4 regularly he'll have to search for some joy because it won't come from his work. The pressure will be unenjoyable

I have no doubt that Jesus will whisper in Drew's ear and tell him to take the Kentucky job, since everyone knows that Jesus prefers Kentucky Wildcats to Louisville Cardinals.

Would hate to see him go, but maybe he's ready for a new challenge. I think we're positioned pretty well if he left to hire a former assistant. I'd look at the Samford coach as well.

Too early at the moment. This could get real in just a few hours.
Agreed. I would hate to lose Scott like anyone else here, but realistically he has nothing else new to accomplish. He's recruited at the highest level, won every trophy he could possibly win here with the exception of the Big 12 tourney (which I think we can all live with), and could leave rightly knowing that he put us up on a pedestal for the next guy in both reputation and facilities.

He's been here 20 years through 3 ADs, scandal, the Mulkey drama, and floated above all of it. Nobody could accuse him of taking the money and running after all that. And FWIW, I feel differently about this one than I did Louisville. It's like taking the Alabama football job. One of the few where you just sort of throw up your hands.

It would honestly hit me hard for a few days, and I'm sure our top-rated recruiting class would fall apart, but whoever comes after Drew, whenever they come, will have every chance to get us back to the pinnacle.

If he leaves, the one excruciating pain that forever will remain, at least to me, is he would be the SECOND career lifetime coach to leave. Can anyone name another Coach who has built anything like this and LEFT the university? Rhoades wii be dead to me… Mulkey, Drew and retaining an abysmal Yoda yoga PE instructor. TRIFECTA!

There is another Twitter Kentucky guy saying co teary to reports, Drew has not been offered yet. Hurley has been offered 11 million a year for 5-7 years, and willing to go higher according to this guy.

If the UK boards are indicative of the fan base, they do not want Drew.

It was called UK Blue Chips I just saw it trending. It went up at about 5 pm it's a whole thread. I'm also not saying any of it is true.

Of course I understand Mulkey's success. Having said that, Mulkey was not someone I would consider a career lifetime coach. Based only on success, ok, but Teaff she has never been nor will ever be. Just my take. Hated to see her go, but she could have stayed and Baylor will not be bowed her. I don't know that it was coming, but sure seems like it was. Just by two cents.

If Drew really leaves Mack has to be fired right?

You let a 3 time National Championship winning women's basketball coach walk.

You let your National Championship winning men's basketball coach walk. Both had been at the school for 20+ years.

Football is on the decline and keeping the same unsuccessful coach that the entire fan base begged you to can.

Baseball still largely unsuccessful.

Softball 5-10 in conference play having their worst season in years.

How can you justify letting this man keep his job?

My biggest issue is allowing him go keep his job and having one of the highest AD salaries in the nation. Ridiculous waste of resources.

In fairness if Drew has any desire to leave for UK I'm not sure there's anything that can be done. But you're correct Softball, Baseball, and Football are disasters

I said it on another thread but Rhodes loves to take credit for Drew's successes he thus deserves credit if Drew ever leaves.

Which I do think he has a hand in not properly handling NIL and NIL budget is absolutely the biggest argument to take Kentucky over Baylor, drew will never lose a player over a money issue there. It's clearly happened here.

Softball returned every starter and is like 23-15. They've severely underachieved and yes I know they have a few injuries. This was on paper Moore's best roster in a good while

Softball?
Softball is currently ranked in the top 25 and reached the top 10 at one point this season. They've struggled with some injuries and personnel issues, but I wouldn't call them a disaster.

They're 22-14 (5-10) conference and likely to be 22-17 (5-13) after the Texas series this weekend. Expectations for this years squad were sky high. Maybe disaster isn't the word. But they've severely underachieved

I've had the sneaking suspicion for a few years that winning is not at the foremost motivation of the AD, Administration or the BOR.

When they chose to retain Aranda last year, I became even more firm in that belief.

And yet that has nothing to do with this particular instance. There is no way Baylor can match salary or NIL with Kentucky no matter who the AD is.

Drew may not be the first choice for UK fans...but they would probably at least get a little satisfaction getting the guy Louisville fans wanted

They don't 100%. He would be fans fifth choice, if that. Admins third or fourth but maybe the first they feel they can get.

This is the first legit threat since early 2010s. Make no mistake, he could actually leave. Ignore all the religious jargon, situations and circumstances are often primary considerations. I'm not questioning sincerity but everyone is human.

There is nothing new under the sun. Folks too often put too much emphasis on the so called non negotiables.

Doesn't hurt that Drew probably has a better relationship with UK's AD than BU's. I'm sure he also has assurances he can implement religious principles in the program.

Recruiting talent to Kentucky was never Calipari's problem..he basically got got the number 1 class or 2 class year after year. Problem is…non of those recruits stayed longer than a year.

This this this. I keep going back to the celebrations in 2021 and Mack not shutting up about how great the bubble was and how much he enjoyed his time with drew and the players.

Then all we hear now is how close drew got to the AD of the most powerful basketball school in the country. What were you doing all that time Mack. Were you just blowing smoke trying to make yourself look good and look like you were a part of the wins. That'll drive anyone insane especially your coach.

It's unbelievable we've gotten to this point, the fact that Kentucky's AD may be more supportive and aligned with our coach than our own AD is a disaster.
