Goodman doesn't know his guards from his forwards.

starting to feel like aranda amassing his TE's last year....the need is elsewhere. let's get a big man please.

How good is he, anyone in the know? Looks like we're getting a stretch 4 in the mold of Bridges. Underwhelming stats but I love the 44% from beyond the arc and he will get plenty of open looks in our system. Two years of eligibility is nice too.

Gives us some lineup flexibility, he can rotate with Omier at the 4 allowing Omier to rotate with Josh O and get some minutes at the 5. Though I suspect we will also get another big before all is said and done.

Apparently Cal didn't either since they have him listed as a guard on their roster and in every boxscore he played.

Here's last season's highlights. Not much inside/drive game last year - but he was coming back from a knee injury the year prior. The lefty look is a plus - may buy him a few extra open shots/game.

Here is video on him. Not just a spot up shooter. Crafty handle and can penetrate. I think he will slide directly into the Bridges role. Curious about his defensive prowess, the youtube highlights don't show that.

If he shoots 44% from 3, you can call him whatever he wants.

If he can average 8 pts/3 boards off the bench, BU will win a lot of games.

The article above from Ashley uses the word 'forward' as least 4 times...so who knows...

Went to same high school as VJ Edgecombe.

He's 6 ft 7. In today's game, he will likely log minutes at the 3/4. Won't be a ball handler, so more F than G IMO.

**just realized the article labeled him a G and you agreed. Lol Woops.

Omier played more post than forward at Miami. He is a big man.

He's a wing player. Whether you call him a shooting guard or small forward really doesn't matter.

It looks like we traded one Jalen for another.

Is he taller than Omier, honest question lol. Also I believe we called Mayer a guard and he was a small forward, regardless like bear2be2 said he plays the 3 who cares what the position is called.

As someone who has been saying we need to shore up our guard core I welcome more bodies and someone who can hopefully come in and sink 3's and add to our defensive length.

Also very exciting he's not a one year player.

Lineup flexibility.. This kid can slide into the 4 spot with Omier at the 5. Lots of options

Sounds like a good role player type that can come off the bench. I get it that Omier can play the 5, but I still think we need to land another serviceable, physical 6-9 or taller big before we're done and the roster is complete.

Agreed, and also could also be that 3rd guard in the lineup especially if Love goes down again..

Fully agree. We are super thin in the paint with only Josh O and Omier bringing any size. We don't need a star who demands a lot of touches, even a 15-20 minute role player like Thamba who can clog the paint and set good screens would suffice.

are we going to start omier at 5?

I'd expect Josh O to start at the 5 but Omier to log solid minutes at the 5. He's a tenacious rebounder and makes from some fun small ball lineups.

Like many people have said here, I think Baylor's only true need now is a big man. I think personally we don't need to find an offensive threat but just someone who 6'10+ and can play solid defense for at least 15 minutes a game.

If we want to win a title yes, which it seems clear Drew is gearing up for.

I know a back up quality guy has been mentioned but would really like a high level big or stretch 4 that can rebound. That would put the roster a step above Houston and Iowa St and right there with KU. Don't know if they do but would be ideal.

13 Scholarships, I think we need another big man who can gives us real minutes either a tall forward or a center.

Then we need 3 guys we can look at as development projects, ideally 3+ years eligibility (if they develop to big 12 level great if not thanks for the help practicing and they can go get minutes at a level that suits them in the future, think grimes, bonner, etc).
BUGrad2012

We potentially already have that guy on our roster in Ndjonga. Hard to say because we haven't gotten to see him play for us, but he is a stretch 4 at the college level.

We don't need one. But we might take a bench post to round things out. That would likely make Asemota the 10th guy.

A developmental shooting guard would be nice. That would give us a decent nucleus of potential returners for 2025-26 with Wright and Asemota projected to be multi-year guys and Ojianwuna presumably back for a fourth season.

I wonder if Omar Adegbola will end up on scholarship now, since 13 spots is, in most cases, more than you can actually fill or keep filled in the transfer portal/NIL era.

Honestly don't know anything about him except that's he's on the roster. That would be a break out player for sure

He flashed on his JUCO film, but that's a massive jump, especially for front court players.
BUGrad2012
How long do you want to ignore this user?
He averaged 13 and 8 in under 11 mins at a JUCO. He shot 42% from 3. Tore his ACL I believe a year ago or so. Complete wild card, but it's possible he's good and plays for us.

Ndjonga will play about as much as Jonathan played this year. He's not even remotely close to being fully recovered from his blown ACL last summer.

Where did you hear this? I don't know many details about his injury.

Not excited at all until we pick up another quality big. Huge position of need.

Not excited about a top ten consensus roster? Jeez man, you need to find another school to root for then. I guess UConn. We have a GREAT roster. Would it be good to get another big, yes, but we have a very solid balanced team to get excited about.
