The more I watch Florida, the more I would not want to be one of the teams playing them. Really didn't watch them that much this year. They look more than legit. They look as talented and deep as Auburn and, unlike Bama, they actually play defense.

Now the bracket matrix has us several spots ahead of WVU and close to a nine seed.

If the NCAA Selection Committee follows the process they describe in their own videos, there's no way on earth Utah St is in front of us from a seeding standpoint.

Yeah, they're legit. The only 1 we can stay with won't be in our region, so hope for a 10.

I hate to admit it, particularly with my moniker for this forum, but the level of basketball I've watched the past 2 days in the SEC games is a bit above what I've seen in the Big 12 this year. I guess the great thing about the tournament is that anyone good enough to make the tournament could have that one round where everything is going right that day and upset one of the behemoths in a 1 game scenario.

The big 12 champ is 0-2 against the sec this year. It's really clear to me. And Alabama is 2-6 against the rest of the top of the league.

Everyone knocked Arizona for a soft pac 12 and they're potentially 20 minutes away from cruising through our tournament. Not good.

With St John's winning the Big East tournament tonight, most of the brackets have now moved Tech down to a 3 seed and replaced with St. Johns. Since we are likely either a 9, 10 or at best an 8, it means if we make it to the second round we would likely get:

If we're a 10:

Michigan St.
Tennessee (not likely)
St. Johns (not likely
Bama

If we're a 9 or 8

Auburn
Duke
Florida
Houston (not likely)

Of course, better focus on the first game first or none of this matters.

Katz has 9 Big 12 teams getting in, including WVU. I don't expect the committee to do the same.

Add St John's to the list of teams that could do serious damage. Don't care what the metrics say. No matter what you think of Pitino, dude is probably the best in the game.

BYU came in to the dance last year playing incredible and promptly got eliminated by Duquesne. Same with OSU during Baylor's title run in 21. Came in scorching hot only to get eliminated by Oral Roberts. The big dance for whatever reason is some sort of complete re set. BYU could definitely make some noise. Also wouldn't be shocked to see them eliminated Rd 1 again with the right matchup

It's called "March Madness" for a reason!

FWIW Aggy didn't move at all after beating Auburn to a bloody pulp.

That's wrong for both. The Ags should be rewarded for beating the top team in the country in March.

100% we're getting Florida. Let's make that be a problem. First things first.

St. Johns is gonna be a tough out for anyone. They play street tough like UH, which has always been a Pitino coached team trait. And, how good would St. John's have been if Walter Clayton of Florida had reversed his course and transferred to St John's to play for Pitino again. Rick is the one who discovered him and coached him at Iona during Walter's first two years.

So our message to the selection committee is "respect us a little bit, but not that much?"

Had Omier not pivoted to Bu last second, I'd have them co-favorites with healthy Duke.

Don't disagree with that.

But can't face Houston or a conference opponent till Regional finals.

Duke is really good. No primary ball handler, no point guard, missing two of three best defenders.. no problem.

Had they picked up Edgecombe they walk to a title with ease. Drew kept St John's and Duke from going nuclear.

Didn't realize how much size they have. Look like an nba team out there.

I have a feeling the Selection Committee is gonna be forced into dropping those historical bracketing rules after this year given now there are so many teams in a power conference and hence so many teams from that conference in the NCAAs. If the SEC gets 13-14 teams in the tournament as expected it may become difficult to avoid inter-conference matchups earlier than Regional finals. Unless, of course, maybe by expanding the field as is being discussed. I'm sure it will be an interesting discussion topic in the offseason.

It's pretty amazing for a college team's PG to be 6-5 and he's the shortest guy on the entire playable roster. Plus every one of them have incredibly long wingspans as well.

Apparently UT wants to swing big and go after Quinn Snyder and Sean Miller if they miss tournament or don't make Sweet 16
