It's crazy to think that it's already been five years since that day. Our Bears were one of the best teams in the nation but Kansas and Dayton among others were up there as favorites too.

What do yall remember about that 2019-2020 team and how do y'all think the tournament would have played out?

I remember a cold day in early winter watching Macio Teague drill 3's and taunt the crowd at Allen Fieldhouse and feeling so fired up that we were about to win there for the first time. It was the first time I had ever believed Baylor basketball had arrived (I previously just chalked up the 2010 Elite 8 as kind of flukish since we had never done it before while I watched).

A lot of media and of course all the KU fans think they were going to win it all and use the victory in Waco over us as evidence, but I will be forever convinced that was our year to win it all and we could have gone back to back. It wouldn't have been as easy as '21, but I still think we would have won if we ran into KU in the Final Four.

As far as Dayton, they were really good and Toppin was great but they always smacked of the team the media gets behind and makes it its darling, and then that team gets upset in the Sweet 16. Dayton was certainly good enough to win it all, but I think they would have choked.

As devastated as I was as a fan that the tournament was called off, I can't imagine what Drew and that team went through.

My gut says KU would have won it all. They were peaking at the perfect time. If I recall BU struggled a bit down the stretch. (Still at minimum a 2nd weekend team) I think Dayton would have gotten knocked out fairly early in the dance. They were one trick pony

All of it was a travesty.

We weren't so much struggling as dealing with a couple injuries and most importantly one with Teague. But he was getting better and the hope was we could rest him to the important games in the tournament.

Honestly if Teague got healthy that 2020 squad was possibly better than the team the following year. Our front Court was amazing.

We can only imagine what the team would have gone in the tournament with Freddie Gillespie

If we had won it all in 2020, Mitchell and Butler probably would have gone pro so I think back to back titles was unlikely. I am good with the way it turned out. Being present for the championship is my all-time best sports experience.
