The only thing I am worried about with Duke, is the historic preferential Jordan-esque treatment they get from the officials - going all the way back to the Bobby Hurley era. If we have Cryer, Sharp, Roberts and Uzan on at the same time, AND the zebras are calling a fair game, I think we'll win.

Nice convincing win today. I'll be pulling for your Coogs the rest of the way.

Happy for the Big 12 and for the University of Houston.
A team from TEXAS is in the Final Four, and for that I am glad.

Michigan State may be keeping in close-ish, but there is no vibe they have a chance to win.

Dang mich state plays so hard. Scrap for everything.

Aub lost one of their best players to possible injury.

Broome ain't coming back today if Tracy's report was accurate.

I wouldn't be too worried if I was Auburn. He's been out over two minutes of clock time and has grown their lead.

Well here he comes.

No B1G team in the Final Four so I guess that extends the streak of no national championships to 25 years (MSU 2000), unless you give them credit for Maryland's win in 2002.

We're thrilled here in Houston. Playing the likes of Baylor, Tech, Arizona and even Kansas (on a down year) this season means we're battle tested. We're gonna represent the Big12 well in the Final Four.

Our squad of Coogs rooted for Baylor to win the natty after we lost to y'all in the Final Four a few years ago. We were proud to know a Texas team would represent all of us Texans in the Final. Here's hoping we get a few bandwagon fans from Waco!

Go Coogs, Sic'em and go Big12!

That team at #5 must've been pretty good

We'll gladly take the 20-21 NCAA Men's National Championship basketball trophy while Gonzaga puts up a plaque for its Ken Pom numbers that year.

I might misunderstand the metric. Are they unique to that year and competition or are they supposed to be comparable across years. I didn't think they were.

Don't care that much as only the Duke team, UConn, and Ku would give us issues. The Villanova team (not here) would have given us trouble too.

The only teams on that list to win the Natty are 01 Duke and 24 UConn.

There are no raw baseline values year over year so the data points are only comparable for the current year vs. current year teams. It's one of those tweets that on the surface looks interesting but there's really no statistical comparability basis between any of those other than saying Duke had a wider variance (more efficient) over teams in 1998-99 than Duke had over teams in 2024-25.

I'll be cheering for Houston!

It would be great to have another Big12 national champion.

Even better to have another team from Texas win the natty.... and ZERO for the Whorns!!

"Always doing less with more" - that really should be their school motto. It fits their sports, academics, budget... perfect motto for the Whorns.

You're right. For some reason I thought they pratfalled that year but that was UNC.

Hmm...I wonder where they rank Timme's leg cramps on the all-time list of Final Four injuries?

Wouldn't that tend to disprove KenPom's methodology? The 10 best teams in the past 30 years and only 3 won a natty, with 3 more guaranteed not to win.

So, when picking the winner, KenPom seems to be wrong 70% of the time, which is still ahead of me, but then, I don't have a website....

Way ahead of me as well. I don't have a web site, don't make any money off my picks, and I'm not touted by the sports media as an "expert".
