We have to retain him for next year. Needs to be a high priority. Really enjoy the way he plays.

Yeah it could be a whole lot worse than down only 7 with no points from Carr.

He's the kind of kid who really needs to play for a hard-ass coach who will yank him when he makes stupid mistakes so he can learn, particularly if he wants to actually make it at the next level. From my perspective, he's the least NBA ready of any of the 5 stars we've had come through here.

And then there was Heart of Texas Coliseum right after a rodeo.

Oh yeah. Definitely not saying I want him to go. I think he was actually a find. He is not really an NBA prospect (at least now) so he's a foundational guy you hope to keep for a few years.

I like Baba Miller's game. I wish we had a post with some skill. It's been a while.

Freddie Gillespie's about the only one we've had since Jo Acuil.

I've totally forgotten what it's like to have a post that is any kind of a scoring threat. It's practically become a tradition.

Freddie's still one of my all time favorite Bears. To see what he was and what he developed into over time through hard work, dedication and discipline was heartwarming. TJ Maston was another. Both proof that Drew and his assistants of those days could develop players. Different time though. I wonder if NIL and transfer portal were available back then, would it be similar to today for college players?

Maston was super skilled on the block. But he had no motor. He was kind of a dog -- and not in a good way.

He could have been so much better than he was.

who was the post we had a few years ago that got injured and then some mysterious illness and then disappeared. He might have transferred? He had some great post moves and could score inside. We need a guy like him but can't remember his name.

Yeah but he developed that little baseline move that very few had answers for on defense. Otherwise, he would have spent the majority of his time at Baylor on the bench. The funny thing is that he went the same way every time, but no defense seem to be able to stop it.

The post player that could actually create a shot and score inside was Tristan Clark.

Awful start to the second half. Predictable.

I think the area where the 19-20, 20-21 and even 21-22 teams ruined me is that they valued each offensive possession. None of the last 4 teams has valued possessions and it just kills momentum almost every time.

This one's over. We're going to get blown out by a ****ty Cincinnati team.

Clark was skilled. Unfortunately, he couldn't stay on the floor.

Yes. Until the injury, he was a wagon on offense.

We are losing to a bad team.

That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier

We're not just losing. We're getting our ass kicked.

We've looked like we belonged on a Big 12 court exactly once in eight games. That's embarrassing.

Caden makes some really good passes from the post.

I didn't want to argue with you back then, oldbear, because you are usually right on the spot, but that Memphis team was atrocious too and that was the first sign we were potentially in for some trouble in Big 12 play.

Yessoufou with another hero ball turnover shot.

Learn from your mistakes, young man.

We've regressed.

Early in the conference season, we showed flashes on offense, and sometimes even on defense.

Today it looks like our guys have not even practiced together

I think we've looked pretty awful for the entirety of conference play. This team just isn't good enough to beat real teams.

All the wins that we thought were good early in the season were against teams that won't make the tournament.

And since the Memphis game, we've proven that we simply aren't capable of scoring on good defense.

How is it in the zone we're playing we constantly have a short guard in the middle of the paint trying to stop a post or forward that's at least 6 inches taller?

I just don't understand how we can be this bad on D four years in a row. I really hope the Williams kid next year is like his dad, who was a pretty good defender in the NBA. Surely growing up in a coaching family he will be.

Executing pretty good on offense over the last few minutes but not stopping anything on defense

He didn't recruit any of these guys but color me completely unimpressed with Sanchez this year. I realize it's his first year but he's the kinda guy Drew has gotta make a quick call on at the end of the season.

Because they play two posts.

Our post is on the low guy and one of the guards has to dive down to defend the high post.

Someone needs to give Drew one of those comical long poles with a hook on it they use in comedies and any time Rataj takes a 3 pointer Drew should grab the hook and pull Rataj off the court.

Missi wasn't super skilled. He was just a freak of an athlete who played with a high IQ and got better and better with experience.

He's the best of the athletic rim-running bigs we've had. But I'm talking about a true back-to-the-basket guy who you could occasionally run the offense through.

This is garbage - I don't know how anyone can watch this crap week after week. This whole new world of portal and NIL Wild West has me so disillusioned and disappointed and disgusted and disinterested

It's a trainwreck at this point. I'm watching because I can't turn away.

This is starting to be reminiscent of the end of the Iba and Miller eras.
