That's partly on Drew and Baylor. They're entering into lopsided agreements without return visits. Gonzaga as of recent comes to mind. Need to only agree to these types if they're home & homes

More on the AD than the coach, scheduling.

There was supposed to be a home & home with the Zags supposedly Few wanted that switched to a "neutral court" and Drew & whoever caved. I don't mind tough non cons when it's obvious the team needs to be tested. But Baylor has to do their part to make sure home & homes are being scheduled. Not constant road games or neutral sites

Agreed, hope the new AD gets that done.

I think the schedule of big neutral site games is partly on Scott and partly probably on networks. He says in almost every interview and at the alumni meetings across the state that he schedules purposely with a NCAA tournament resume in mind and that neutral site games gives you a better chance to benefit the NCAA tournament resume through NET more than hosting a game does. Quad 1 wins expand to Top 50 and Quad 2 expands to 100 on a neutral site game. For a home game, Quad 1 is only Top 30 and Quad 2 is 31-75.

And there we are. The same people coming out to mock the program, insult anyone still supporting Drew and the program, and imagining they're the cool ones.

Those of us who were there before Drew know that there are no guarantees, and sometimes you just have a bad season.

The Bears played pretty well against Louisville, considering where we are as a team right now. UL hung 118 on NC State, which is not a bad team at all. UL hung more points on sixteen opponents than they laid on Baylor.

The Bears will be good again. They are actually improving now, even if they aren't winning those games. I guess some folks refuse to see that.

This isn't "just a bad season" this is the end result based on how the program has been run since the natty. Quite a few of us have been calling this out for years and the only thing that is surprising is how low Drew is letting the ship sink

As I said, the quitters and the haters are making their opinions known.

When the team gets back to being good, that tune will change, as it did every time before.

This is why those with a P are viewed so low over here. It must be hard in life when you think criticism is hate.

Not all criticism is hate, but it's kind of obvious who spews bitter rants just because we didn't win a game we were expected to lose anyway.

There will always be those whose support depends on getting no bad games. Those will also deny they are poor fans.

Yep

Most premium members are too scared to call a spade a spade because there's a group of premmies that attack on sight

Why not? You guys can be fun, just like anyone.

Not a huge basketball follower in general, but attended the game today.

1) Overall attendance was very underwhelming, and Dickies Arena seemed just as red as what it was green and gold.
2) We are terrible at shooting FGs and 3's, like my son's middle school team has a better shooting %. It seemed like we had some good looks too, just can't make *****
3) Reminiscent of the football team in that at times we seemed so close to being competitive, but also so far away where it looked like we don't even belong on the same court.
4) Offense seems very blah. Everything feels rushed and forced. ball movement just seemed below average, turnovers were a killer.
5) Defense often left someone wide open on the perimeter and UL was shooting pretty good beyond the arc.

He''ll be back. He's not gonna command big dollars in the portal because his defensive metrics are in the bottom 10% of the Big 12.

Williams would never see the floor on a halfway decent team.

Wild take. He has improved by leaps and bounds this year, and is one of the few players on our roster able to compete athletically in this conference.

Another predictable loss. I'm as frustrated as the next fan. Someone said Obi was hurt going into the BYU game which explains why he was a no-show the past 2 games. Really devastating timing since his play had turned around and coinciding with his improvement our team was starting to turn around a bit. Carr also looks banged up and playing hurt. If it weren't for the bad injury luck, we would have no luck at all.

Just another example of the typical soft Baylor weak-ass way of dealing with things. We need some hard asses in leadership. Now, if not sooner.

Rob Wright is an awful defender. I was comparing their defensive metrics, not their overall values as players.

Rest assured, Williams will get big money this off-season… If not from us then from someone else. He is the exact type of player we need to build around, someone with the requisite athleticism to compete and the time to develop.

Williams isn't getting anywhere near what you think he's going to get. You're suffering from battered Baylor fan syndrome. Williams is missing several qualities you need in a player you're building around. Good player, far from elite

Agree to disagree. I know hoop, he can ball and will only get better. To turn this around we need more of Williams, less bandaid approach with one year rentals like Roach and Obi.

Never said you didn't know ball did I? I said Williams isn't a guy you build around as your center piece.

I know you're just expressing frustration like the rest of us because I also know you have a lot more basketball knowledge than to think Williams and Rob are on the same level.

Rob was and still is an awful defender because he didn't and doesn't want to play D. Williams is an awful defender because he has bad lateral movement, insufficient overall quickness that resutls in easy blow bys and wide open 3's, and even worse defensive instincts. Hopefully with a full offseason Sanchez will be able to help him with the latter.

He makes up for the poor defense by being one of the few players we have who can create on offense, mainly because he's one of the few aggressive players we have. He was a great find, much better of a value than whoever found a couple of others who were paid big dollars.

I think Williams is an explosive athlete. But I do agree he needs lots of coaching on both sides of the court. My overall point is I would rather have guys we can develop for a couple of years as opposed to one year Band-Aid rental type players which we've recycled the past two or three years.

Fully agree you with on that. I am glad he's on this roster and I look for him to be a big part of next year's team. And that means we're gonna have to pay him market value, which (and I agree with you on this) increased a lot based on his surprising performance this year. Having guys like him for multiple years is the only way we get back to competing at the top of the conference level. But as much as his value increased, it's not in the million dollar range that makes him unattainable (and I know you didn't say that....I'm just using that as a baseline).

I wish his dawg attitude would rub off on several other guys. There is no doubt the tone of our offense changes when he's on the floor versus when he's not. Game after game the offense stalls any time he's not on the floor.

Obi got hurt before the first media timeout in the BYU game, but gutted it out. Too bad, as he was playing his best ball of the season prior to getting injured.
