High-scoring Evansville transfer lists Baylor in his top four

One of the top players on college basketball’s transfer market named his four finalists Sunday morning—and Baylor is one of them.

Deandre Williams, a 6-foot-9, 190-pound forward from Evansville, has whittled his list down to Baylor, Kentucky, Arkansas and Memphis. Williams averaged 15.2 points and 6.9 rebounds as a sophomore in 2019-20. He played in just 18 games because of a back injury, including only three after Jan. 4.

Headed to Memphis, read a couple of things from the Kentucky site that made me less excited about him, but still would have been nice to have the scoring option from the 4-5 spot.

We're lacking scoring from several positions heading into next year as it stands right now. Could change if the two guards return. Would have been a nice addition

Agreed, going to need Matt and Tristan to step up big time next year for scoring. Seems odd that we swung and missed on several transfers, unless maybe Macio and Butler not leaving a 100 percent handcuffs that scholarship. I think we are full unless one of them leaves.

I'm sure those 2 being unknowns has transfers reluctant to come to Waco. I think the only one on the fence though is Butler
