"With the defense being a problem, it seemed like a time for forward senior Olamide Aborowa to step in and help close the floodgates. However, Aborowa only played 8 minutes the second-lowest on the team. She had been an integral part of the Longhorns' defense in the past couple of games, serving as an anchor.

When asked about why Aborowa didn't play much tonight, Karen Aston was honest and concise.

"I wasn't pleased with how she practiced the last couple of days," Aston said.

"Four Big 12 women's basketball standouts earned weekly accolades for their week 11 performances. K-State's Kayla Goth and Texas Tech's Brittany Brewer were tabbed Big 12 Players of the Week, while Iowa State's Ashley Joens and K-State's Christianna Carr shared Freshmen of the Week honors.

Averaged a double-double with 15.0 points and 10.5 assists in K-State's pair of wins. In the upset victory over No. 11 Texas, the senior scored 20 points and dished out 12 assists. The Co-Player of the Week award winner scored 10 points and collected nine assists at Texas Tech, as she earned her 2nd weekly honor this season.

Texas Tech

Co-Player of the Week 1st-time weekly honoree boasted 25.0 points and 11.0 rebounds for the Lady Raiders last week. She scored 27 points and went 12-of-17 (70.6%) from the field at TCU. The junior contributed with 23 points and 11 rebounds in a close game against K-State.

Ashley Joens G FR
Iowa State

Averaged 14.0 points and 4.0 rebounds against West Virginia and Oklahoma last week. The freshman from Iowa City connected on 8-of-13 (61.5%) from the field and led the Cyclones with a career-best 25 points in the win over the Sooners. The Co-Freshmen of the Week award for Joens is the 1st this season.

Tallied an average of 13.5 points and 2.5 rebounds, as the Wildcats went 2-0 last week. She netted 19 points in K-State's upset victory over No. 11 Texas and added eight points in a victory at Texas Tech. The Co-Freshmen of the Week award for Carr is the 1st this season."

Kids today, don't even remember the last time the Aggies played the Horns.
Today's students are oblivious to that one-time rivalry.

So the Kansas State team that walloped Texas goes to Morgantown and gets beat 60-30 by West Virginia. Having seen both of those teams in Waco this year, that result really surprises me. Kansas State missed all 18 threes they attempted and shot 20% from the field. Yikes. The next 8 teams in the conference after Baylor this year are all impressively mediocre. Anyone can beat anyone. Then there is Oklahoma who may be lucky to win another game.

Honestly, we only look at Baylor, but this Conference needs to do some deep soul searching. As a Conference, this years addition is not good.
