NC doesn't even look like she wants to be here longer than 4-5 years. Although I do hope she can win in that timeframe…I just don't see a happy coach, locked in coach at all

How do you know this ?? You know nothing - you just shoot your mouth off without any facts. I guess you just like to be a muckraker.

CNC has made a great sacrifice to be here at Baylor without her family living in here in Waco - If she looks a little down sometimes especially after a difficult loss, she has every right too.

Not locked in ??? Her team and staff can attest as to how locked in she is. If you just listen to her pressers with any sense of fairness you can tell how "locked in" she is when she talks about the upcoming opponent and follow that with her post game thoughts.

As far as being a happy coach just watch the interaction between CNC and her players - those smiles, hugs and banters speak volumes.

He is an idiot who makes nonsense up to feed his bad takes. Wants to hate me, makes up some fictitious job.

Blatant lying is not normal behavior. We unfortunately have some very disturbed people on these boards.

Well, maybe we should just take the difference in salaries between Kim and Nicki and dump it into the NIL pot? I'm sure that money has already been allocated elsewhere. Time to start buying some players like everyone else. But, like many have said on this board, players still want to play for winners.

I used to be shocked if Kim ever lost a game. Now I am shocked if we pull off a Big 12 road victory. Times are changing and I am trying to adapt.

I do think it is fair to give CNC time, but it is also fair to criticize some of her coaching decisions. The constant barrage of 3 point shooting is only going to take this team so far. I would prefer us to drive the ball and then kick it to another player after the double team (see the second half of the KSU game). And, CNC bears a lot of the responsibility for recruiting a marquee player who couldn't play (expecting the Kentucky coach to lie is naive at best).

Go Bears. I'll still be watching and cheering.

Before you decide to publicly question/criticize Coach Nicki's game plan or coaching decisions, might be a good idea to go to open practices, listen to her pre- and postgame pressers, learn more about the "whys" before you open your mouth and look stupid.
.
I agree, I've heard CNC talk about settling for 3s without a paint touch in several press conferences.
^^^This is exactly what CNC talks about almost every press conference. Touch paint and kick it back out to a 3pt shooter. I can't recall exact %, but we are WAY more successful with 3 pt shot when we have a paint touch first. Just listen to CNC...she really does know how to coach.

AP swears since he's "locked in" with Baylor, his takes are always 100% correct, when he's flat out wrong. Saying that I hate you, when you put me on ignore because you couldn't take the heat is so funny to me lmaoo.

The guy got screamed at by Mulkey, and has since *****ed and moaned about her. He'll make it about Mulkey some way or another.

Apparently LSU fans are not being turned away from WBB games. A top matchup this week between LSU and Arkansas only drew 50% capacity or about 7k.

Within that context, comparing relative performance [based upon the financial opportunity afforded] of those schools does not bode well for Baylor. That reality doesn't even begin to analyze how much of Brittney Griner's career was wasted by the stubborn refusal to recruit shooting despite repeated "advice" from both NBA & WNBA coaches and executives.

To further illustrate the above statement. Kim had a conversation with Bobby Knight that I personally witnessed. When she asked him for his advice on Griner coming to Baylor the next year - His answer was "Surround her with players that can shoot" !!!

Somehow that was interpreted by Kim as surround her with players that can pass the ball into the paint to her.
Griner has survived in the WNBA because she has learned to play away from the block - something she should have learned at Baylor !!!

Absolutely no excuse for losing to TAM and Louisville with Griner on the roster.
Kim trained the team to lose the Louisville game - during the season when the team built a big lead and Kim sat Griner - when the opponents would whittle into the lead Kim would rush Griner back onto the floor - thereby telling her team that they could not win without Griner on the floor - So when Louisville shut down Griner (yes, how they did it was bush league) Kim and Brock did not know what to do - team was totally lost on the court. It was Simms who late in the fourth decided the hell with this offense and almost pulled the game out with her individual play shooting 3's and driving to the rim.

Carroll Dawson was also asked [in front of Mulkey] what Baylor WBB needed to maximize Griner's potential.

His response: shooting.
Asked what else: shooting.
Again What else: shooting.

So the staff recruited athletes who defended but weren't shooters. It became an "I will show them" situation.
As with so many of the issues "on and off the court" for that decade, everything always looped back to ego and the need to prove that "My Way or the Highway" was the key to everything in life.

At some point in time all the discussion of the previous coach and the "woulda, shoulda, coulda" will be behind BU's fan base. Probably due to the ultimate station of the program's existence. ADMR now has the program financially tucked away where the University's power brokers are comfortable with. Only time will finally erase most of the ire to apathy. It was certainly fun during that 15+ year period. For those that bleed green & gold it was a great memory.

At a glance:

Baylor is shooting 25-30 threes a game on average.
LSU is shooting around 10-15 a game.
Games are won in the paint.

If you don't have a good big, then find ways to get to the hoop and draw a double team. Basketball 101.

I like Nicki and wish her great success. She just needs to find a big who can score. Not just a body. Our 6'7" recruit should help next year.

I'll be they're cheering as loudly as I did for our former coach.

In just her 2nd year re-establishing LSU's WBB program, Kim has LSU at #3 in the Nation with a 19-0 record. #1 and #2 also are 19-0. Boy, I'm sure glad that troublemaking drama is gone.

We get to watch the spectacular demise our our ladies hoops program. Coach BC is a wonderful person from what I hear. But, she is nose diving this program.

But, keep the excuses coming. Wait till she gets her players here and can run her offense etc.

Nose diving.

You mean like beat Arkansas twice. We couldn't even do that with Lyss, Queen and Jordan. LOL that we'd be 19-0. Go sell that **** somewhere else.

USC is loaded...but the Hogs are a good team. They got caught on the last of 3 games in 7 days on the road against the best team in the Country. They had come off two very tough and emotional games one a victory over Vandy by 3 at home on the 16th one a loss by 3 on the road (19) to LSU. Against LSU they had a good chance to win it and really out played LSU down the stretch. They hung tough for a quarter then just got buried.

LSU had beaten them by 24 when they played the first game of conference at Arkansas, so Arkansas pretty motivated to have a better showing and LSU may have taken their foot off the pedal a bit after jumping on them early who knows with kids....

I think USC is the best team in America! I think LSU is a top 16 team. I hope BU rallies and wins the conference and gets a good seed in the tournament.

Nice try, but you have once again shown how little you really know about women's basketball and just how heavy that axe is that you are still carrying around for CKM. Has it occured to you (given all your prior basketball knowledge) that perhaps Arkansas punched way above their weight class against LSU on Thursday night and simply had nothing left in the tank for the South Carolina game? Has it occurred to you that LSU had already played Arkansas three weeks prior? They had a first hand scouting report and fixed many things prior to their second matchup. Neighbors said as much in his post-game interview. I suspect the same thing would happen against South Carolina if Arkansas was given the opportunity.

You clearly get what you pay for.

Even with her attitude...I really miss Kim.

CNC is a great coach, but implementing a system that I think is too difficult for the many of the players we have at the moment. That's something that 3-4 years of recruiting her players can fix. If it's not fixed by year 4, then bring the doom and gloom.

Additionally, I think if she has made a mistake this year it was in the gamble she took signing Edwards, not knowing if Kentucky was going to sign off to let her play. That gamble not paying off, along with Blackwell's injury, is as much to blame for our woes this season as anything else.
I tend to disagree that the system is too hard for any of our current players. They run Nicki's system in practice just fine. They also guard well in practice. Then it seems they get on the court and when the going gets too rough they fall back on what they prefer rather than the game plan, and that is not on CNC. We should get Kyla back this week, and if we also had Aijha 100% (back being Aijha) those two could make a significant difference, especially in taking the "heat" off our smaller guards. Maybe then they could focus on following the game plan rather than looking for a safer way to score without getting mauled. Maybe I'm way off base, but that's sure how it looks.

I never understood the hire. she was a wnba coach and a mediocre one at that.

since we have now dropped out of the top 25 for the first time in +18 years, I think it's time to start looking for another coach.we'll never strike gold again like we did with Kim Mulkey, but hopefully we can strike silver.

You aren't getting another coach. It's not about winning in wbb anymore.

Look at the people that post all over these boards. They don't give two squirts about wbb.. their mission statement is to hate Kim.

Kim is now 20-0 in her 2nd yr at LSU. Mack should have negotiated and named Something after her. She deserved a statue. Is there Anything on Baylor's campus that even acknowledges that Kim, the greatest coach in Baylor history who was allowed to stay, coached here? Anything? Kim was absolutely under appreciated. 11 straight Big 12 titles, 3 National Titles, final 4's, elite 8's, sweet 16's, etc. Loyal in her defense of Baylor. Sure, she was no picnic to get along with, but she ALWAYS delivered for Baylor. The free publicity her Tournament runs provided Baylor was worth a lot more to Baylor than her so-called financial losses. Baylor's building 2 major athletic buildings right now! Baylor has plenty of $. Baylor would rather keep a "nice" person as a WBB coach who's average, than a once in a lifetime force of nature who delivered Championship teams every year.

I just don't get the make-up of this year's squad. It has so many flaws, and I cannot get why Nicki didn't hit the portal more than we did (specifically for post help). Maybe she did, and we struck out. We just have so many weaknesses all over this roster, and I am not sure the players who are out (transfer issues or injuries) would get us back (and stay) in the Top 20. Maybe someone with more insight can explain the roster issues.

More I look on how they play. Watching lack of adjustments, lack of fundamentals I see a pro coach trying to be a college coach.

Team design is pitiful. And looking to next year unless massive transfers it will be a rough year again.

I like Coach as a person. I like her interviews. I think she is a good person. I just see a coach who looks out of place. One who doesn't know how to put together a team.

Hope I'm wrong. I just don't see a good coach or team designer.

I don't want to hear fixes can't be done fast. Kim did at LSU. Ivy did at Notre Dame.

We had a great brand. Our brand isn't good right now. All in 1.5 years. That's on CNC.
