And I've dealt with her directly many times before. It's not an opinion on my end. It's a fact.

A fact would mean that it's true with everyone not just you. Therefore it's an opinion. A fact is "the sky is blue" Mulkey is a **** **** person is an opinion. Like I said you're entitled to that opinion, obviously it's not unanimously shared

I can line another 100 people up by this afternoon who could share the same "opinion/facts".

Hey IowaBear, I believe it is the 'Premium Flag' that converts opinions to fact here in the slum neighborhood of 'free' posters.

Ahhh yesss missed that! Everything Trey post MUST be factual because he pays $$ to get inside scoops. One problem his comment is the literal definition of an opinion

This is primarily a semantics argument regarding what is an opinion.

"I spoke to Kim Mulkey." - Fact
"She called me an idiot." - Fact
"Therefore, she is a bad person." - Opinion. Yes, reasonably extrapolated from fact, but nonetheless a statement of opinion.

Kim is a great great coach and a flamboyant dresser that matches her coaching ability.

Too bad her player took the name "Bayou Barbie", Kim looks like the real Bayou Barbie here.

Now is she also a piece of work? More than likely. She certainly doesn't have the cool balanced
demeanor of a coach Drew, that's for sure. More of a Bobby Knight type of personality.

So Mulkey had zero to do with her choosing LSU?? It was only about money? Reese has stated a billion times how much happier she is now at LSU than she was at Maryland. Maybe I'm just an idiot but it sure feels like playing for Mulkey has really helped her. Some of you act like the lady can't coach and these recruits are simply choosing LSU for $$ and nothing else
Nobody truly believes she can't coach. but she is an incredible piece of ****.

That's pretty much true everywhere, isn't it? Although I think if honest, we all did some face palms with some of her actions or statements while she was here. I'm sure Vic's antics down at UT are viewed differently by UT fans and then everyone else.

Same thing goes with politics. Everyone wants Congress booted, but they "like" their guy or gal or at least enough of them do. So, we end up with the same **** every time.

no. I've pretty much felt that way for a long while after personal dealings with her.

In this case both statements are true. She did win with less talented and also more talented players than her current roster at LSU and Angel Reese was certainly the primary player most responsible for the heights of this season for LSU and she was certainly bought with NIL to go to LSU. She was scheduled to visit Baylor who a number of industry people considered the leader or at least a co-leader immediately following her LSU visit but she never made the visit and shut down her recruiting once the NIL offer was made.
Saw in the DMN this morning that Reese has 17 NIL deals, the most of any woman player. Regardless of where she plays after college, and I'm sure she will get plenty of promotional deals to enhance her basketball play, but her basketball salary alone will likely be a pay cut from what she gets now if she goes WNBA. This NIL stuff is out of control. In concept it was a fair idea, but in reality is just pay for play....only the schools are not suppose to be directly involved....yeah, right. OU and SMU were ahead of the times to come.

It's not wnba money that is important. It's overseas money that they make bank on. That is how it was pre-covid and pre Russia invading Ukraine. Not sure how it works now.

NIL is just getting going. If you think things are out of control now, you may be shocked by the evolving landscape in 5 or 10 years.

Has it ever made sense that college coaches are paid millions while the real stars of college football and basketball have to make do with scholarships that often leave them penniless regardless (unless they receive under-the-table-compensation)?

In fact, NIL is really just a compromise arrangement in an attempt to stop lawsuits that seek regular compensation for college athletes. And, for the most part, NIL only benefits a small royalty of sorts in college athletics.

Mark Emmert and the NCAA has long made the argument that the NCAA is a benign association that redistributes money from revenue to non-revenue sports and provides educational opportunities to athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds. Those things may be true but the real purpose of the NCAA was, and still is, to operate sports enterprises that generate billions of dollars for its member institutions.

In any case, college athletics may be unrecognizable in 10 years.

She is wearing a toned down version of her pink flamingo. Remember in her first championship at Baylor she wore powder blue in tribute to her former school. If she can win tonight maybe she shows up for finals in Green and Gold.

She also wore light blue for the 2019 championship game. 2012 looked like light gray jacket with bright gold blouse. She pointed up to the LA Tech banner during practice in the gym in 2019, reminding her players that she was on that team. Not sure if paying homage to first NCAA tournament championship or saying up yours.

I mentioned earlier that Reese had 17 NIL deals. I know people here had talked about $100,000. But in the DMN today they said she has the highest NIL pay in the country, men or women.........$392,000! I'm not sure how any player can turn that down even if Mickey Mouse is the coach.

Do we even have donors that would pay that much for one player? The money is mind-blowing for one player. But even more so is that she is getting more than any man in the game.

The News source was SponsorUnited. That is who said she was the highest. Some website On3 provided the amount. Who knows? What is obvious though is it is a heck of a lot more than anything I could contribute being able to make a difference in attracting talent.....or could justify contributing for that matter.

It might seem mind blowing but its much lower than football or MBB. We can do it.
