It started with 28-7 Big 12 Champs
followed by 20-13
and then 26-8
currently 13-3
wins are far more than losses
if you can do simple math
I don't feel tardy

I started going to games in the 80's sometime (85?), bought season tickets in 97/98 when Hogg started turning the program around, kept them thru the majority of the Mulkey years, but then I started to get priced out so I just went half the time or less. Now the tiny arena money grab has just about finished me off, I go to a few here & there. I'm still a Baylor guy and really like the ladies team; I support the coach & the players and hope they continue to win far more than they lose.
For something to continue, it has to have started. What's started in the last two seasons is tying for 4th in the Big 12. Is that what you mean?

LSU has 38.000 student on campus...students alone can easily fill their arena...and its Louisiana...what else do people have to do, wrestle alligators?

The "what else do they have to do" excuse is lame.
What else do the students in Waco have to do? Magnolias?

Geewago is a great fan and a colorful conversationalist. I highly recommend him as a fellow observer of Baylor's women's team. His observations are spot on, and he has a crackling good sense of humor. Don't let that "aw shucks" personality fool you -- he is as sharp as they come on almost any subject.

A "full arena" is sold out. I actually looked up the numbers, LSU has not sold out this year and is announcing an average of about 10500 in a 13200 seat arena. He's hearing wrong.
OK Mr technical. I figured you'd make a big play on the "Sold Out" part. So do you go to the games? I take it you don't want to be my game day buddie. I'll definitely give the burger to Iowa Bear when I get the chance.

when you have an idiot for an AD this is what you get. Run off the most successful coach in school history and this is what you end up with.

when are you people gonna wake up? Aranda? another program in progress? doubtful.

the problem here is our AD. period.

Setshot I have always considered you to be the best poster on any sports forum I've ever read, going back especially to some of the great things you printed on Baylorfans.com when you were in your prime. I am so glad in spite of your age and health conditions that you are still able to bless us with some comments from time to time. I will always cherish those times we spent together watching the Lady Bears (yes I still call them that) in their practice sessions. That was really great that time that due to preparation for another event they were going to practice in the side gym and Kim let us go into her office and observe from the overlooking balcony. For you to compliment me in the manner that you did is very humbling.

It was also great to see BUVA mentioning the late Slimecap. Talk about a lady, there was one for sure. And it was my privilege to meet her numerous times. Having meals together, sitting at games together and swapping quite a few texts and PMs over the years. She was a jewel.

Reading a Setshot post is like listening to Nicki Collen talk about basketball--I always walk out of it smarter than when I walked into it.

This board is full of conversations about attendance with all the usual reasons given to explain the declining crowds at games. Some of those are more legitimate than others, but last night I was thinking about another: The age of Baylor WBB fans coupled with the dynamics of Foster.

Although the Ferrell Center parking lot wasn't ideal, it gave the visual illusion that getting from your car to the arena was a simple feat, because you could see the building from where you parked. Although the bus system may actually make getting to Foster no more difficult than Ferrell, the logistics of getting on and off a bus, waiting in line, etc. may deter some of our older fans, who have always been the bulk of our crowds.

More than that though, is the steep incline of seats in Foster, particularly in the upper arena. I am a relatively healthy middle-aged man who exercises regularly, running 3-5 miles several times a week, and sometimes navigating those steps and aisles can be a challenge, especially when I have to cross over other people to get to my seat. This is annoying for me, but I imagine it is prohibitive for many of our fans.

Once students are back, the attendance should improve. Right now, any students there are either the spirit groups or participating in recruitment in some way. It was a fun game to watch last night. I was there when we got blown out and had no expectation of winning. I was thankfully very surprised and pleased with the effort and outcome!

student being back will help some but, students have never been big supporters of WBB in Waco

We better recruit, land, and keep the next Caitlin Clark if you want there to be a resemblance of support for WBB at Baylor.

Saw on here that attendance is down. Decided to get tix for a couple of games. Only seats available though Baylor are in far upper reaches of the arena. Looking on StubHub or other secondary markets, plenty of better seats but asking price is out of reach. So tell me why attendance is poor? Have the resellers gotten greedy? Are season ticket holders not filling their seats? A bit baffling to me.

My employer has season tickets. They've been asked to notify ticket sales if the seats will not be used so they can be made available to walk up fans.

They have played 4 teams so far that will likely be in the top 40 at seasons end. Indiana, Oregon, Okie St & Utah. 1 - 3 so far. Mondays game will be a test of how respectable can they look. I would think if they stay within 20 of UCLA and within 5 of the next opponent (TCU) they should have a very high chance of finishing the year with at least 7, possibly 8 wins in the last 10.

Buy the cheap tickets higher up. It's so empty up there that you can basically sit where you want, and I think the view is better than on the lower levels.

You may (or may not) be giving too much credit to TCU. They beat UCF by 40 on the road and then turned around and only beat them by 9 this past week. The teams in this conference are not that far apart, at least those in the top half. You have an off night, you get beat. You have a key player get in early foul trouble, you can get beat.

I think the timing of the UCLA game is unfortunate. A lot of people do not have that day off, "holiday" or not, yet the game is at 2:00. I don't remember any of our marquee games under either CNC or KM having such a time on a weekday. It certainly likely cuts down on any advantage we have playing at home.

Sorry, I never knew it was in New Jersey. I Googled for the Baylor schedule and it showed Baylor as the home team. The place I was looking never indicated it was at a neutral site. This makes more sense for the time.
