our yoki lee said she stayed this year because nil made it easier for her than moving on in life.
I count 2 with 1 maybe. .Maybe, we have a different definition of wining track record - CHAMPIONSHIPS is minefranke said:
You mentioned all of the programs (besides TCU) that have a proven track record of winning and/or have winning head coaches. People do not go to those schools strictly because of NIL. They go to win, be seen, and make money because of the exposure. People went to TCU because of the prior relationship with HC. Does NIL play a part? Sure, but in WBB it's more to supplement.
Kim and Geno and Dawn have the luxury of telling anyone "no". Probably ND as well because of the aura associated with the school. The rest of the coaches don't have that same luxury.blueeyedbear said:I count 2 with 1 maybe. .Maybe, we have a different definition of wining track record - CHAMPIONSHIPS is minefranke said:

You don't have a clue to what these recruits have told Nicki what they are asking NIL wise !!! Kim told one No THANK YOU if that gives you any idea what these recruits out of High School think they can command NIL wise.

Thank you @BaylorWBB for the amazing visit!! pic.twitter.com/S3AD2tuYua
Do I remember correctly that foreign players can't receive NIL funds? If this is the case does it level the playing field for us any? Please share any details/thoughts on this situation.Dcheetah said:

Thank you for your reply. What is the school's role in this? Do you know if we are prepared to help arrange NIL for foreign players?BearTiger said:
Correct, international players are not allowed to receive NILs in the US, due to immigration laws. But they are allowed to receive international NILs from their home country. Last Tear Poa at LSU WBB is a good example, she is not allowed US NIL, but has been receiving international NILs from Australia. Poa is the first athletic student to sue US Immigration to allow foreign athletic students to allow NILs in the US.
The aura isn't with the school, it's with the coaches.blackie said:Kim and Geno and Dawn have the luxury of telling anyone "no". Probably ND as well because of the aura associated with the school. Correct. NIL is the equivalent of working. International student visas don't allow you to work while you are in the country. So, receiving NIL would violate that. I know there are some schools working to change that, but I don't see Immigration giving a crap about it. Would open up way too many issues in other avenues.BearTiger said:
Franke, thanks for clarifying. Location is important, international athletes cannot be in the US receiving NILs. They normally get international NILs when they are out of US and in their home country, because US Immigration status doesn't apply in their home country. This isn't an NCAA issue, it's a US Immigration student visa issue.
You may have misunderstood my point. I have always said it is about the coaches. The only exception I am willing to consider is ND. Likely more than any other school (IMO), there is a lore or aura surrounding ND in and outside of college sports. (Knute Rockne type stories and lore, fight song likely more familiar than any other, movies, innumerable religion-oriented fan base, etc.) I don't know how that can be denied. I think that is the only one where the school name might carry enough weight to be able to overcome any perceived hesitancy with who the coach may be....assuming the coach is at least above average (but not elite).Tempus Edax Rerum said:The aura isn't with the school, it's with the coaches.blackie said:Kim and Geno and Dawn have the luxury of telling anyone "no".
