I'm not superstitious so I don't think this will impact what happens in KC. It's a reasonable projection & naturalIy hope it's accurate:

My biggest consent is playing ISU in Hilton South.

It's a fair prediction. The gap between BU, TCU and the rest of the league is huge. It'll be BU/TCU Sunday. BU will win. It's hard to beat a good team 3x in a year.

Agreed, on all of it

Iowa bear, i hope you are 100 percent correct. Not sure Buggs will be back though.

The latest presser CNC agreed to a press statement that Buggs out for the Big12 tournament. Would love to see her play some limited minutes…work back into the flow before the big dance. Obviously, a risk to her recovery isn't worth it. Been out longer than I anticipated.

I wouldn't have played Buggs in KC. Remember the woman's set up is a bit different. There's going to be a huge gap between our last game and the start of NCAAS. Somewhere around 12-14 days. Tons of extra rest for DLB. The B12 tournament matters little compared to the NCAAS

I disagree.

Championships of any kind matter.

Unless you can make it to the Elite 8, I would rather have a conference title of some sort.

Getting to a Sweet 16 here or there doesn't quite hit the same as being a conference champion year in and year out.

S16's carry WAY more weight than a conference tournament title. They rarely mean much unless you're playing for a bid

… especially since there is no doubt we will be in with a decent seed. Is it likely the Big 12 Tourney will influence our seed much?

Unlikely. Think there might be a small chance at a 4seed if we win the B12 tourney. But we're entering NCAAS at no worse than a 5 seed.

If I had to guess, I'd say the players and coaches value them, whether a bid is in play or not.

Last I checked, you didn't get a ring for making the Sweet 16.

And if we're being honest, no one really brags about making the Sweet 16 nowadays (which is a given for your top programs).

The bragging rights come from consistently being the best each year.

And by winning your conference, it's almost a given that you'll make the final 16 each year.

Winning your conference tournament
in no way shape or form guarantees a S16. Will have to agree to disagree. But programs are remembered for what they do in March that's long been the case. If you prefer to value conference tournament titles than by all means. You have that right. I prefer to value what the program accomplishes in the big girl tournament

You're right.

Not many folks remember a random Sweet 16 run.

Now if you're talking about making the Final 4, then I would 100% agree.

Also, I'll clarify. I personally value a regular season title more than a tournament title. But winning the conference tournament is nice as well - especially if you didn't win the regular season crown.

Conference title guarantees nothing except a trophy & a banner. However, being able to achieve one does indicate the potential to replicate that level of success in the big dance by winning multiple games in a row.

Never hurts to point to that achievement during recruiting trips.

Good point. Personally I'd love to see MBB & WBB get more of them.
