We have discussed Carrington and Smith being traded from Dallas that didn't make the playoffs.Well, both were traded to much better teams.Carrington is in the rotation for #1 seed Minnesota and Smith starts for #2 seed Las Vegas. The most interesting matchup for former Lady Bears is national championship teammates Griner(Atlanta)versus Sims(Indianapolis)in the first round. Are there more Bears in the playoffs?

Good,I had lost track of her.Of course, she also was recently let go by Dallas.

She was on hardship contract with Dallas while McCowan was injured, then McCowan was waived to stay within roster limits after trades with Minnesota. I haven't watched much, but last time I saw KB, she was in great shape.

I thought Dallas made a mistake in not keeping her(and Sims earlier).Of the 5 former Bears in the playoffs,4 have recently played for stay at home Dallas.Hmmm.

As mentioned previously on this site by several posters (myself included), the Wings Organization is an absolute mess.

Curious to see if Arike Ogunbawale stays, I think she's a free agent after this season.

She is.

My gut says she is leaving.

It's clear that Dallas is going to make Paige the face of their franchise, which means Arike will have fewer opportunities to fire at will.

That could ultimately be the deciding factor for Arike.

The lynx came lack from a double digit deficit to advance to the semifinals 75-74. .Carrington scored 11 in 14 minutes including a key 3 pointer late in the game. Our other former BEARS play today or tomorrow with each series being tied at one game apiece.

I like the fact that there is a Bear on each of the semifinal teams so we will have an alumna get a championship ring.I wish that Brown would get more minutes.Sims and Smith will probably start and Carrington will be in the rotation.

Odyssey left Fever/Atlanta playoff game with injury. Hope she's OK.

I think you might be referring to the first game of the series.

She still came back into that game, if I recall correctly.

But she was perfectly fine in their Game 3 clincher.

Odyssey played 31 minutes for the Fever, scored 17 points. NaLyssa left game in Q2 after a hard fall, returned briefly in Q4. 89-73 Fever in game 1 of semis.

Fever up by 5 with a little over a minute left on ABC.

With a win, they'll force a Game 5.

Fever win 90-83 to tie series. O was a big part of the win, scored 18 playing 25 minutes as PG. NaLyssa got in foul trouble, only scored 8 in 22 minutes.

Indiana holds off Vegas in Game 4, 90-83, and forces a winner-take-all Game 5 on Tuesday night, with a trip to the Finals on the line.

It was Odyssey's turn to show out today, as she finished with 18 points on 6-9 shooting (9 of those 18 points came in the 4th quarter).

Things were tight for most of the final period, but the Fever were able to get just enough separation late to get the win.

We also had Becky Hammon call a time out she didn't have, which basically ended any chance of the Aces pulling off the comeback.

While Vegas will likely be a huge favorite to win on Tuesday, you just never know how things might play out in a 'win or go home' game.

Should be a good one on Tuesday.

Kalani is the first to get to the Finals, as Phoenix eliminates Minnesota tonight 86-81.

Either Odyssey or Nalyssa will join her in the Finals on Tuesday night.

If I'm not mistaken, one of those three will become just the 3rd former player to win a WNBA Title as an active member of the playoff roster.

The other 2?

Brittney Griner and Alexis Jones.

Sophia played in the 2008 finals but her team did not win the championship. That is the closest to a ring for another Lady Bear that I remember.

All 3 of the former lady bears still in the playoffs played on a NCAA national championship team so the winner this year will join Griner in the elite company of players who have won both titles.Totally cool.

Curious what O will do after season. Unlikely Fever can keep her on roster as Clark will return. There are at least two other injured players with contract obligations. Maybe will go to expansion team. She still has the competitive fire to help a team.

I really hope she can get one full season on a team before she retires. It seems like something happens when she begins a season and has to go through the slog of travel for an extended period of time.

This may be the dumbest thing I've seen the WNBA do, and that's saying a lot

Not looking good for Indiana right now.

Aliyah Boston has 5 fouls midway through the 3rd quarter.

Kelsey Mitchell being helped off the court to the locker room.

And Lexie Hull can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Odyssey is going to have to play the game of her life to get the Fever to the Finals.

She needs to go into 2014 mode, and just fire at will.

86-86. Going to OT.

Odyssey doing her best to will the Fever to the W.

Fever go down in OT 107-98.

Odyssey played her heart out and finished with 27, but it wasn't quite enough.

I know hindsight is 20-20, but when they were down by 2 with 26 seconds left, I was hoping they'd take the clock down and play for a three and the win.

With Boston having fouled out and with Kelsey Mitchell out, you were going to be short-handed even if you made it to OT.

And another 5 minutes most likely would not favor you.

Win it or lose it there at the end of regulation, but at least you'd control your own destiny.

Still, that was an incredible rally by the Fever to even force OT. They fought hard and didn't give up, even when all looked lost.

Odyssey showed everyone that she is more than capable of leading a squad when she has to.

I hope some of these other organizations finally realize that.

Clark was already a millionaire before she put on a Fever uniform. I'm sure she has contractual obligations for the alleged $16M, but if she decided to walk, the W and all its grandiose expansion plans would likely be in big trouble. Wonder if Collier will face any fines or suspension for her comments.

Unlikely Collier will be punished financially or other. That would be most certainly the death knoll for the Commish.

I agree the officiating at times can be suspect but it is that way in the NBA also. Her comments/criticism of the WNBA commissioner are not new, there has been talk for over a year regarding her poor performance. CC (Caitlin Clark) gave the Commish an extension on her job, for now.

IMO, that was not a foul on Collier by AT, she (AT) already picked the ball cleanly and therefore was a loose ball. She did not go at or over Collier to get the ball but, straight at it. I am sure given the gravity of the situation plus Collier tweaking her ankle, made the Coach and player hot under the collar but, it was a clean basketball play.

This is why it's dumb for the WNBA to keep expanding. The viewership and cash income are driven really by 1pkYer. The WNBA already saw the negatives of that 1 player getting hurt. What happens when she retires and the viewership numbers absolutely tank. I get capitalizing on your cash cow. But long term league expansion is likely to be an abject failure
