Vic picks up another one. The college "free agency" market can sure change a team makeup quickly. Players seem to be willing to sit out a year to transfer.

I did not see that coming. I assumed that she was there to stay. White has graduated. Post is open. Collier and Holmes were going to start at 4 and 5 but Prince missed her freshman year...she has a lot to learn. Where would she be headed to and why.

We are pretty well set with Smith, Cox and Egbo available for 4 and 5 except when Mulkey dials up 3 bigs and all three are on the court. Gusters set to follow after Cox finishes. In addition some of our current players can contribute minutes down in the paint as well.

She's from Liberty Hill, right outside of Austin and has been a strong commitment for quite some time. Sitting on the sidelines and watching a team underperform isn't the best way to keep a top ranked recruit. Being close to home isn't a factor for her - wouldn't surprise me if she gives UCONN a really strong look, Storres needs some size.

Yea I also read that she might have been talked in to staying.. ... the same as Destiny Littleton. There was no official word yet.

Transferring would probably be a mistake for her unless she can get a waiver for the move. Otherwise she would have to sacrifice a year of eligibility and sit out another season. I don't begrudge anyone wanting to leave UT but the timing is strange.

Correct - but when you sit on the sideline and aren't in the thick of the game, you can sometime see things you are blind to on the court. Doesn't matter how or why she sat, she still sat. And she likely started to see what many others have already seen - the future isn't especially bright in Austin.

Once players enter the transfer portal they are usually gone. But a few stay . She will draw lots of interest, may get the NCAA to make her eligible immediately.

Eligibility may be the decision maker for her. Can a player file for eligibility without knowing what school they will transfer to or if they will transfer? I would think they possibly could, but getting the NCAA to make a quick decision may not happen. Your thoughts Bill?

The NCAA is not known for quick decisions, but someone knowledgeable helped to prepare the statement. I don't think the decision of the new school should be a factor in the NCAA's decision. UConn, Notre Dame and Miss St may all have an interest.

She may be looking to apply for a medical redshirt, and hoping to have 6yrs total. If this happens, she will be starting as a 2020 recruit. On the down side, a team may only have her for 2 years, as she would be eligible for the draft at that time.

Club ball / AAU circles Sedona Prince is reportedly close to 2020 Deja Kelly & her family. Kelly previously verbally committed to Texas but reopened her commitment. Kelly is in contact with several schools.

Additionally Virginia (HC Tina Thompson), Georgia Tech (HC Nell Fortner) or South Carolina (Texas recent transfer Destiny Littleton).

As I recall, in conference transfers have to sit out 2 years, unless they get a waiver. So going to any Big 12 school is unlikely.

I think she winds up at uconn or aggy.

Didn't UT have a awesome recruiting class in 2017 or so, and all of them have transferred out?

Better way to say that - how many transfers has that program had over the past 2 or 3 seasons? It seems like all of them.

2017- Rellah Booth, Chasity Patterson, and Destiny Littleton all transferred.

I seem to remember that transfers inside conference you sit out 2 years. Even if it is 1 year, she has injury issues. I say she winds up at uconn.
