And yeah, there seems to be trouble brewing in Austin. Who do they have left?

Micayla Buckner who started her career here just transferred to New Mexico State.

Did she ever play? Because I vaguely even remember the name.

Dcheetah said:
If she did it was not much. Think she left here for Juco and then maybe UNT?

Ah...Las Cruces, New Mexico.

40 minutes south of Hatch, NM - home of the Pepper Pot Restaurant. Their Christmas Enchiladas are worth the drive from central Texas.

She's from Liberty Hill, right outside of Austin and has been a strong commitment for quite some time. Sitting on the sidelines and watching a team underperform isn't the best way to keep a top ranked recruit. Being close to home isn't a factor for her - wouldn't surprise me if she gives UCONN a really strong look, Storres needs some size.
She only sat because she was injured and had surgery.
Correct - but when you sit on the sideline and aren't in the thick of the game, you can sometime see things you are blind to on the court. Doesn't matter how or why she sat, she still sat. And she likely started to see what many others have already seen - the future isn't especially bright in Austin.
Ah, I see what you're saying. I interpreted as she was transferring based on not being given playing time.

I hope Sarah Andrews is paying attention. That is, if she is truly considering the Horns..

I would be shocked at this point in time if the Longhorns were still serious contenders for Andrews - unless she is looking for immediate playtime and is keen on staying in state. It doesn't take much to realize the red flags in Austin, as well as the lack of development, both at the point guard and post position. If she goes to Austin then we never had her.

If she selects UConn, a great WBB program to say the least, I cannot believe that she will be happy with such a decision in the long run. Liberty Hill has a culture that is very different from New England. No knock on that part of the US, just a very different climate, culture, food etc etc. And no good way for friends and family to get to the games. UT is actually a great fit for her. She cannot transfer to a Big 12 school because of the two year sit out rule. The SEC would be a better choice for her if she insists on transferring out of Texas.

A hot mess of transfers in Austin. Can't make Karen look any happier then she already does.

Too bad Sedona didn't chose the better Texas school, I think she would have been happy with the chemistry we have. She's a good person and I wish her the best wherever she goes.

Agree that UConn is a desolate school and not easy to travel to. But they do have a good WBB program.

This may be wrong, but for years, everytime I see her, I think she's a Nancy Pelosi starter-kit.

She may be a real sweet person, but like Pelosi, she can't coach or lead worth a sh#t.

I am surprised that she isn't talking to Vic Schaefer. He seems to be having a great run of transfers to keep his program running. MSU is a lot closer to Texas also and, you get to watch some football.

???? Miss State is the Texas Tech of Mississippi. Other than playing on a good WBB team, very little to offer.

Yes, it is the cowbell school in that state, but one heck of a coach!

Oliver will be in Waco next week along with cooper. Next year will be interesting.

It seems like Westbrook will have to sit out this year.

I understand that "medical reasons" is why she said she is transferring (or so she said), but how does that make her eligible next year? I almost thought she would sit next year to be 100 percent and ask for a 6th year. So curious!
Thank you for your updates!

I agree and that was my initial thought after reading his update. It would be ridiculous for the ncaa to let her play immediately.

Looking at Prince's injury is there any concern about her bone density? I know it was a freak accident but didn't she break both bones in supposedly a non contact situation? I'm no doctor but I would think that might be a concern. Someone who knows more than me can answer that I'm sure.

I'm hearing that Prince will be eligible this year and they are using last year as a medical red shirt.

Cooper is on campus now, I wonder how Coach Mulkey accepts that Dwight is with her at all times.

He won't be come August. Unless he plans on retiring.

So when will the TC transfer become official?

You have 5 years to play 4. The medical exemption could be an attempt to get an extra year of eligibility, not just to be eligible this coming season. If they make her sit out it would still count against one of her years.

Not to be a party pooper but can we stop talking about her personal life. It seems that everyone is more focused on that than basketball. Yes she has had some bad situations and is engaged to Howard but I dont think it needs to be talked about every times she is mentioned.
