And yeah, there seems to be trouble brewing in Austin. Who do they have left?

Micayla Buckner who started her career here just transferred to New Mexico State.

Did she ever play? Because I vaguely even remember the name.

If she did it was not much. Think she left here for Juco and then maybe UNT?
Ah, I see what you're saying. I interpreted as she was transferring based on not being given playing time.bawitdaball said:Correct - but when you sit on the sideline and aren't in the thick of the game, you can sometime see things you are blind to on the court. Doesn't matter how or why she sat, she still sat. And she likely started to see what many others have already seen - the future isn't especially bright in Austin.HoustonBear15 said:She only sat because she was injured and had surgery.bawitdaball said:
She's from Liberty Hill, right outside of Austin and has been a strong commitment for quite some time. Sitting on the sidelines and watching a team underperform isn't the best way to keep a top ranked recruit. Being close to home isn't a factor for her - wouldn't surprise me if she gives UCONN a really strong look, Storres needs some size.

I hope Sarah Andrews is paying attention. That is, if she is truly considering the Horns..

If she selects UConn, a great WBB program to say the least, I cannot believe that she will be happy with such a decision in the long run. Liberty Hill has a culture that is very different from New England. No knock on that part of the US, just a very different climate, culture, food etc etc. And no good way for friends and family to get to the games. UT is actually a great fit for her. She cannot transfer to a Big 12 school because of the two year sit out rule. The SEC would be a better choice for her if she insists on transferring out of Texas.

This may be wrong, but for years, everytime I see her, I think she's a Nancy Pelosi starter-kit.slimecap said:Lone Star said:

Frankly, I did not have guts to say the words TA&M, ugh.TXtoCO said:There's always TAMU...Hairy Bear said:

I am surprised that she isn't talking to Vic Schaefer. He seems to be having a great run of transfers to keep his program running. MSU is a lot closer to Texas also and, you get to watch some football.Hairy Bear said:Frankly, I did not have guts to say the words TA&M, ugh.TXtoCO said:There's always TAMU...Hairy Bear said:

???? Miss State is the Texas Tech of Mississippi. Other than playing on a good WBB team, very little to offer.Hairy Bear said:

Yes, it is the cowbell school in that state, but one heck of a coach!LiBeartarian said:???? Miss State is the Texas Tech of Mississippi. Other than playing on a good WBB team, very little to offer.Hairy Bear said:

You have 5 years to play 4. The medical exemption could be an attempt to get an extra year of eligibility, not just to be eligible this coming season. If they make her sit out it would still count against one of her years.Jpbu152001 said:
I understand that "medical reasons" is why she said she is transferring (or so she said), but how does that make her eligible next year? I almost thought she would sit next year to be 100 percent and ask for a 6th year. So curious!
Thank you for your updates!
