Thank you.
somewhat agree, and think this would be true if college basketball were still amateur, but it's a multimillion dollar sport and this site itself exists for revenue... and it's also entertainment... and when any politician, actor, athlete is on the stage... well... they're on the stage. you might not like my comments or my opinion, but they are mine... and i think the very existence of these sites only endorses such discussionmimi25408 said:
Not to be a party pooper but can we stop talking about her personal life. It seems that everyone is more focused on that than basketball. Yes she has had some bad situations and is engaged to Howard but I dont think it needs to be talked about every times she is mentioned.
My sentiments exactly. If you don't like the personal life of one of our players, keep it to yourself -- unless you are just itching to start an argument.BaylorBears_254 said:
Annnnd what does her personal life have to do with you?
She didn't come here to get married to the guy, she came to play for Mulkey and the Lady Bears.
Have seen her play. She is slow and poor defender. Not really a "guard" but more of a "3". I see her going to an Ivy League school or mid P5 school, not an elite program.willtalk said:
McKenzie Forbes, last season freshman, has entered the transfer portal at Cal. She was Mc Donalds AA but she is not really the type of guard that Baylor needs. They have a lot better on the team already.
That was also my assessment. I watched her play in the Nor Cal high school playoffs. She also lacks the desire and it factor. Her team was constantly carried by their 5"2' freshman point. McKenzie disappeared whenever it counted. She is an example of a player who gets a high rating based on physical appearance. But because she was a McDonalds AA some P5 program will pick her up on rep alone. Hey! Someone picked up Destiny Littleton and Forbes is at th least her equal.Lone Star said:Have seen her play. We are in a unique situation this year we do not have to have a transfer and no transfer would come in with a guarantee for playing time which most are looking for. A lot of kids are not interested in coming and competing with the talent we already have in place.GarlandBear84 said:
It sure seems like someone is slow-playing it.
What the? What type of connections you got?bawitdaball said:
A coach cannot comment on a grad transfer until they officially enroll in classes - not sure if Cooper is doing summer school - though I doubt it. So until she is officially enrolled in the university, Mulkey can't comment on it.
Also - Mulkey has NEVER been one to broadly advertise players. She'll do it when she sees fit and is allowed. Outside of that, everything is internal as it should be. This is a team decision, situation, and adjustment. She will and always has done exactly what needs to be done for the betterment of the team.
Expect Cooper and one more transfer to be announced in the coming weeks.

No worries. In Skilledup and Bawitdaball I trust!
Good point but I also point out that while it is easier now to transfer it has happened in the past and will continue to happen...Beatrice, Wright, Small, Morris, Chou are just some of the more recent ones to leave for various reasons. We have managed to survive...bawitdaball said:
I don't see anyone leaving this year; HOWEVER, I do hope that people are aware that the women's game is changing and transfers are going to happen. It won't mean that the season is over and it won't mean that Mulkey or the player did anything wrong. It will happen, so prepare yourself. We will always be ready, prepared, and have the ability to adjust - just as we did this year without Morris. So, when it does happen, please don't post that this is Cooper's fault or that Mulkey brought in grad transfers and that is why people are leaving. It is the new landscape of the sport and in order to "play" the game you will get some and you will lose some - you just have to trust that Mulkey will do what she needs to do to keep Baylor an elite program.

I agree, we will always have players transfer whether they are big time players or not. It happends. We all know what happend with Morris, only a few of us know the real reason for the transfer of Beatrice and Wright. Small leaving was not a shock at all. I could always tell she was unhappy it was all over her face. Chou I slightly knew she was going to transfer but I tried to not think about lol but hey her loss because made room for Juicy !!!
I never look back on that although, it is a thought I am sure they all have as few of them (if any) will become professional players in the WNBA. The reason I never look back is because perhaps their presence would have changed the chemistry of the team as well as team performance and, we may not have won a NC because of that. All things work out in the end and because of how things turned out, we did win the NC.ScottS said:mimi25408 said:

As we were winning in Tampa, I wonder what those that left thought. Did they say.....I could have been winning a natty.
