For a guy obtained for his defense, it sure has not come as advertised. He got bailed out by a bunt being called foul, on which Maldonado threw wildly to 3rd. What has come as advertised is his sucky bat.

Awfully small sample size with us to be talking that much ***** How bout waiting 10 starts or so?

Get this reasonable response out of here. I'm out for blood!
LOL

yes... I feel the same about getting swept by the strangers

but think about this

We just got Osuna for Giles....

I hate getting rid of people with his kind of stuff.... but he is such a headcase that it was time

Giles fell so far, Houston would trade him for this baggage:

Osuna has been suspended 75 games for violating the league's domestic violence policy and is eligible to return on August 5 against the Mariners.

LOL!

"160.9344 Kilometers Giles" does not have the same ring as "100 miles Giles." Canada sucks

Wow, considering the type of players our management has normally gotten this is kind of shocking to me. We seem to stick to guys that the general public really likes. That said if he comes back and is his normal self then that's a pretty big upgrade on the field.

Surely Lunhow did his due diligence, I like this move on the field. I'll wait for the press release regarding Osunas baggage, but I don't think we would give up Giles and change for an unknown situation with Osuna.

Chapman was in somewhat of a pickle when the Yankees got him, didn't seem to matter to anyone.

That's because the Cubs are/were everyone's diamond darling.

Kind of a high price for a guy that is in potential trouble.

Osuna for Giles , Hector Perez and David Paulino

Yep. The Yankees (Chapman), Red Sox (Steven Wright), and Astros all now have a player who has been suspended for a domestic violence incident. These teams are lucky they are not a college football team threatening UT's territory.

Whatever is funking the Astros, it's still stinking up the place.

The Astros pitching doesn't deserve this kind of batting.

It's madness. Seems like every time we make contact, it's right to someone, or just not quite far enough to clear the fence.

Yep. Everyone gets games like that, but the last five games have been anemic:

Jul 25: 2 runs on 1 hit 10 SO 3 BB
Jul 27: 2 runs on 6 hits 8 SO 5 BB
Jul 28: 3 runs on 5 hits 5 SO 1 BB
Jul 29: 3 runs on 7 hits 9 SO 3 BB
Jul 30: 0 runs on 4 hits 10 SO 1 BB

We had as many SO as hits on the 28th and more SO than hits in all the others. For 5 games we scored 10 runs on 23 hits, but struck out 42 times and claimed only 13 walks. As a team we're not seeing the ball that well, and given the guys struggling I don't know why.

In a season of 162 games, there are going to be bad stretches, sometimes just due to chance. The hope is that 1) they are relatively short and 2) You don't get one in the playoffs.

It doesn't help that Correa and Altuve are not in the lineup.
GoldMind

The Yankees got 2 no hitters thrown against them in 99.

The 2007 Red Sox lost to the Pirates 17-1.

**** happens, but I guess I'm just shocked I didn't see it coming.

It's no coincidence that the 0-5 started when Altuve joined Correa on the bench.

Yep. I'm just glad the Baylor BoR is not in charge of the Astros PR department. Watch and learn, Regents. Who am I kidding. These Regents have no self-awareness and don't believe they need to improve the way they do things.

The Astros got

3. (#42) Yordan Alvarez, OF (21) - AAA

for relief pitcher Josh Fields, who gave up back to back homers to Altuve and Correa in Game 2 of the World Series, and never pitched again in that series. Without Fields (not to mention Darvish) being traded to the Dodgers, the Astros might not have won the World Series. What a trade.

Tony Kemp gets the Astros first hit with 2 out in the 3rd, Tucker up now for Springer, lines out to end the inning. Not sure what happened to George, we can't afford to lose even more of our hitters.
