We have a 1 run lead and a 5 game losing streak. So yeah I don't like the LOB stats right now.

If it makes more sense, I'm a former catcher. Never liked walks to the other team, always figured the batter was at fault for 'catcher's interference'. And a really good pitcher didn't wave off more than 2 of my signals in an at-bat.

We just spent a weekend where the Rangers had more LOB than the Astros in all 3 games. LOB isn't always a bad thing. You're driving up pitch counts, forcing pitchers to exert more stressful pitches, etc.

I sure wouldn't have. I looked at his $6 salary the same way I looked on Jon Singleton's $1M salary ... a waste. But Sipp has earned his money and then same, while Singleton was suspended, costing him his $1M.

Like I referenced when this started, the Astros are right where Baylor was when the Texas Monthly article hit. Watch and learn on how a normal PR department handles a bad situation. The Astros are Baylor, and Toronto is Boise St. The main difference is that the bad thing happened in Toronto, while with Baylor it happened at Baylor.

But on the other hand, I am disappointed that the Astros so intentionally put themselves into a bad situation. Baylor was rolling the dice a bit, but clearly could have turned out ok had Sam been able to keep it in his pants.
