Fake Gattis took ole boy deep. They call it timely hitting, I call it expected.

Tomorrow night the Astros will try for a 3rd time to get to 32 games over .500. Their nemesis James Paxton, who has beat them 3 times already this season alone, will face Houston once again.

Last year, the Astros had a mid-year slump that directly followed a double-digit win streak. They went 37-37, sandwiched around a 64-24 record.
This year, the Astros had a mid-year slump that directly followed a double-digit win streak. Except this year, instead of lasting almost half the season, it only lasted 25 games. They went 12-13, sandwiched around a 61-29 record.

No Springer, Altuve, Correa, McCann, McCullers. No problem?

It's time to strike off that question mark, and make it an exclamation point.

Oh yeah, all eyes on Justin Verlander tomorrow night, as he goes for career win #200. Will Correa play Thursday, or will he wait until Friday?

Yep. You'd figure we'd know by now if Correa was starting tonight.

I'll be at Friday's game with my Dad and my son, so looking forward to that. Staying at the Marriott Marquis as well.

Did this series get the 4 worst umpires in MLB?

right now every bad call just crushes us.... We are so beat up that we can't afford to get screwed and overcome it.... We throw a pitch to a guy a foot taller than Kemp, that is lower than the pitch that was called a strike on Tony and should have been strike three, but it is inexplicably called a ball, and then a double on that at bat opens the flood gates

Follow @astrosump

Pretty neat to see how they call balls and strikes.

during my coaching days, I didn't think much about the refs when I had a team that was good enough to overcome a few bad calls.... when I was at a place where we were good, but we needed things to go our way some I obsessed about the refs because our margin for error was so thin that we were unlikely to overcome being screwed by the officials....

I'm seeing that now with half our best on the DL

I'm most curious to see if the Red Sox can keep this insanity up. Will they be the 27 Yankees or the 01 Mariners?

Overdue, actually. I understand we took a lot of injuries, but come on.
