... Get happy. This team will take us to ASTROnomical heights!! Get your asses to the Box and watch some games!! Enjoy it!!

Not sure how much you know about cheerleading, but it usually doesn't start with calling the people you are cheering to the "worst fans in Texas".

Classy standing ovation for Nori Aoki tonight. Great crowd tonight and a sellout tomorrow.

Good to back on the winning side. Springer back Tuesday in the South Side of Chicago.

Sitting here watching bomb after bomb was extremely fun. Glad everyone in the box tonight had the good sense to give Aoki the respect he deserved.
Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

Astros have been shut out twice in the past week. If they don't show up, why should I?

I love them, but yeeech.
This right here is why I bash Houston fans constantly. Worst fans in Texas.

"Oh fk, my team lost a game, guess there's no reason to acknowledge their existence any more"
Ease up. Every fan base has lamenting fans.

You could just have easily reacted to my story that last week my wife and I has 3 days without our kids to travel anywhere, and we chose Philadelphia to see the Astros play two road games, and declared that "This right here is why I praise Houston fans constantly. Best fans in Texas. "

Either reaction would have been overboard.

Im trying to change the narrative.

Are you? Or are you just trying to shut down anyone with valid concerns?

Exactly. Even winning teams make trades throughout the year and send people up or down. There is always a hole to fix or a backup needed to rest a player so they are fresher in October.

I wish we could have traded for a bigger arm than Liriano, sure. Can't we all agree that a deep rotation is key to a WS?

And if anyone had posted something like "man, the Stros are whooping ass, I just wish they'd win more of their home games" I don't think it would have gotten much argument.

If the season ended today, this team would have the best offense in baseball history, I though that was pretty cool.

We have 2 all-star caliber pitchers, and a solid rotation until they get past Martes.

Forgive me for being optimistic AF.

There is a word for it but optimistic isn't it.

The offense is on/off manic at times. The night after the Astros laid 14 on the Rays, they could only score 4. Last night they put 16 on the Blue Jays, but through 7 innings tonight they have only scored 3 runs. I know the 'Stros are not at full strength with Correa and Springer etc. out, but it's hard to get a sense of where they are now.

Run diff is +170. That's unreal. Best in their league. Only the dodgers have higher.

That new pitcher we acquired for the trade, Liriano? Brought him out in the 10th with the game tied, he gave up more balls than strikes plus a hit to give Toronto the lead. Guy looks lost and sloppy, and he's all we got before the trade deadline to help our bullpen.

Astros are still going to win the division, but they are hurting right now. Lost 5 of their last 7 and trailing at home yet again.

Astros lose for the 6th time in the last 8 games.

I love them, but it's obvious they are struggling.

These games don't particularly matter. Generally, teams that have a lead cushion like they have don't sweat the piddly games.

Getting men on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out, then failing to score, that's usually a point of concern, And until you clinch the division, no games are "piddly".

15 game lead. That's going to take a plane crash to blow that.

Winning the division is not the goal. Winning a World Series is the goal.

How about that finish. Bregman's most clutch at bat of his career so far with his game tying 2 RBI triple. Happy flight to Chicago indeed. And you have Springer and Keuchel on the field for the opener.

Great win today by the Astros. Minor league catcher comes up with game winning RBI to cap off 4-run bottom of ninth and take series.

Even very good teams will have bad stretches, and any time you start removing key players from the lineup, it will have an effect.

Bullpen needs to get it together, they have been giving up too many runs lately.

With this team, it's hard to like just one. Correa and Altuve are my favorites on offense, but I really like Brian McCann. In my experience, the catcher is vital to the defense, and Brian is a big part of why the Astros have been able to keep winning with player injuries.

This is where all those innings are starting to hurt us. One reason the bullpen pitchers aren't in the starting rotation, is that they are effective only in limited use. With so many starters getting hurt, we've been using the pull pen a lot more, in some games as early as the 3rd inning. We're paying for that now, and I worry about what we will have in closers when it's Playoff time.

Yuli is quickly becoming a fan favorite, a la Moises Alou, due to the fact that the size of the moment has little affect on his performance. Some players choke in the big moments. Guli does not. Marwin Gonzalez is another player I want up in a clutch situation. He's always been that way, including breaking up that Yu Darvish perfect game in 2013.

And of course the three all-stars in the lineup are all incredible.

That's why Bregman's hit was so big yesterday. He was one of those guys I never wanted up in a big situation. But yesterday and the last two weeks have started to change my opinion on that.

My least favorite Astro is A.J. Reed, and he quickly was demoted. Bye Felicia.

In 2017 ...

Jose Altuve games with 0 hits -- 21
Jose Altuve games with 3+ hits -- 21

He already has 1200 career hits.

Hell of a lot of respect for E Gattis. Only a masculine man can go to the plate raw like that, no pine tar or anything.

Dallas does not have his stuff tonight. 1 out bottom of the 1st, Sox (worst team in the AL) have 2 runs in on 4 hits, and the bases still loaded.

First inning damage: Keuchel gives up 3 runs on 4 hits and a walk. Very poor start for the second straight game for Dallas.

Bregman ties it up in the 2nd with a 2 out triple. Time for Dallas to go back out, hope he's figured it out.

Well, the Sox just got 2 more hits off Keuchel. Runners 2nd and 3rd, no outs in the bottom of the 3rd. Not sure what is wrong, but Dallas is still weak.
