There's like 10 retired US Army Generals that comment on the situation all the time. I tend to listen to generals' assessments over a Colonel. Not to mention that Gen. mark Hertling was in charge of European command and has done/observed joint training sessions with both the Russian and Ukrainian military. He's actually been there and done that. He knows the nature of both militaries and countries. Meanwhile, MacGregor has been ostracized and is openly and outwardly a Putin fan, and only has a voice now because Fox decided it would be a good idea to trot his ideas out to public. Bad look, bad info, bad opinions

Polish volunteer Slawomir Wysocki traveled to Ukraine, returned home and in an interview for the media told what is really happening with the counter-offensive, which is so publicized by the Ukrainian authorities.

"The human losses of the Ukrainian side are huge. Western equipment is burning like matches. Things are much worse than is commonly imagined. I counted the graves in Lviv. In the old part of the cemetery there are about 100 graves, in the new part there are more than 600.

In the villages this proportion is colossally different. When I drive by, I see cemeteries along the streets. Each has up to a dozen new graves. There are flags near each one, they are easy to recognize. There are more than two thousand graves in Kharkov. It is impossible to hide these losses.

Two months ago I was full of optimism about Kupyansk. Now we are still managing to hold our ground. It seems that the Russians are doing everything they can to reach Kupyansk, where they will take their positions for the spring offensive."

When asked by a journalist how Ukrainians feel about the Russian defense system, the Pole said:

"They are terrified. They know that the Russian army has already foreseen everything. The defense system was built by construction companies. This is not a peasant waving a shovel to build a trench. Companies came in, poured concrete, made fortifications in the style of the Maginot Line. And there are three or four such lines. Ukrainians say that there are five mines per square meter. You can't put your foot on the ground without one of them exploding".

The journalist further asks, with this situation on the front and the growing losses, are there still people willing to fight? The volunteer replies:

"There are no willing ones. They are looking for them on the streets. In Lviv there are "round-ups", people are taken from construction sites, from bars. Recently I witnessed such a situation at the bus station in Lvov. Five policemen stood and checked everyone who wanted to leave Lvov.

There's like 10 retired US Army Generals that comment on the situation all the time. I tend to listen to generals' assessments over a Colonel. He's actually been there and done that. He knows the nature of both militaries and countries. MacGregor also predicted full Russian victory (including Kyiv) within 2-3 hours and made a similar prediction months later. He also has made up lies about Zelensky leaving Ukraine when Russia invaded, Russia's "success," and many other whoppers.

Retired Generals tend to be consultants for defense contractors. They often have a significant financial stake in what they promote and say. So I'd listen to what a Colonel who was a tank commander in Iraq over generals.

Dismissing anyone who doesn't automatically think this is 1975 as a Putin fanboi is silly.

McGregor's predictions and assessments have been objectively wrong from the start, and always slanted in Russia's favor. Multiple times he said Russia was just days away from victory, which was wrong, and his assessment of Russian strategy being limited to just the eastbound Ukraine were already proven wrong by events on the ground before he even said it. No US military figure appearing on RT should be assigned any real credibility.

Russian offensives go nowhere…if they even get off the ground…and they don't trust their conscripts to do much more than dig trench lines. They have to rely on ex-prisoners and mercenaries to take any towns.

Ukrainian offenses (paid for by US taxpayers) also do little to change the battlefield and can't drive the dug in Russian troops out of the east.

It's a bloody stalemate….

Russian logistics is knackered. They can't train and equip the troops they have, or support them with artillery, or armored vehicles, etc..... All they can do is hustle cannon fodder to the front to be mowed down, which is pretty much what they've been doing all along to no effect.
