Austrailia reporting a recent 22% surge in sudden cardiac events..
Something changed, the effects are evident but causation is not as clear
Most here won't like the answer.

Pretty alarming. Sounds like it's time to go get the kids vaxxed, don't you think?
The data is pre-Omicron. At that time, sure.
So you're saying the current iteration doesn't cause the same issues? Still stand by the fiction that we didn't know kids by and large weren't dying of COVID when the vaccine was approved for their use?
no, but many kids were getting sick and we still don't know the long term side effects. We know organ scarring is an issue. This could also be why younger people are dying years after getting Covid.
Organ scarring is related to respiratory distress syndrome and or sepsis. If you end up in the ICU with COVID, there's a chance you could have long term issues including lung or other organ issues caused by the aforementioned. Same for flu, viral and bacterial pneumonia, bronchitis, etc.

Good grief Ghost. Do you even check the article dates?
do you have a better one? I'm not on either side, just want the facts.
COVID kills and damages organs in similar fashion as other respiratory illnesses. There's a paranoia about COVID these types of articles create, which say "if you get infected, you could end up with organ damage". While technically correct in a broad sense, the reality is that if you get
severe COVID (hospitalization/icu level) there's a chance you may end up with organ damage, particularly lung damage, as well as "long COVID" symptoms. That has to be compared with one's likelihood of ending up with severe COVID. That's the risk assessment. BTW, the same can occur with influenza, pneumonia, bronchitis, etc.
