Sorry to see your TDS is flaring again.
Can you not find something more interesting to say instead of this stupid TDS? You are a broken record.
You irritate very easily, J.R.

Not my problem, that.

Trump Shares DeSantis 'Grooming' Accusation Just as Governor Defends Him

Former President Donald Trump boosted an accusation that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was guilty of "grooming" underage girls shortly after DeSantis defended the former president over the "Russia collusion hoax."
DeSantis, who is widely viewed as Trump's likely 2024 GOP presidential primary opponent despite not officially announcing his candidacy, took part in a roundtable discussion about "media defamation practices" on Tuesday morning.
During the discussion, the governor referred to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into allegations that Trump's 2016 campaign team colluded with Russia as the "Russia collusion hoax," echoing a phrase that is often repeated by the ex-president himself.

Within hours, Trump went on a rampage against DeSantis in a series of Truth Social posts. In two posts, Trump shared an image that purportedly showed the governor drinking alcohol with teenage girls that he was responsible for teaching at a high school in Georgia.
Trump on Tuesday shared an image to Truth Social claiming that DeSantis, his potential 2024 GOP primary rival, was allegedly guilty of "grooming" underage girls while working as a high school teacher.
A version of the image shared by Trump on Truth Social featured the caption,"Here is Ron DeSanctimonious grooming high school girls with alcohol as a teacher."
The former president commented, "That's not Ron, is it? He would never do such a thing!" While sharing the picture a second time, he added, "No way?"
Some on social media were quick to point out that the Florida governor and his teamhad previously pushed rhetoric baselessly claiming that LGBTQ people are guilty of "grooming" children.
"Ron DeSantis has waged a hateful war against the LGBTQ community and frequently called all of us 'groomers,'" writer and actor Benjamin Siemon tweeted. "That Donald Trump is now insinuating DeSantis is a pedophile is truly delicious and deserved."

Trump shared another Truth Social post on Tuesday that accused the Florida governor of not supporting Trump's border wall in 2018, prompting the former president to suggest that he regretted his endorsement of DeSantis.
"Wow, if I knew that I wouldn't have Endorsed him (and he would have had to quit the race, down 35 points!)," Trump wrote while sharing the post.
The former president shared additional posts that blasted DeSantis for denouncing "Trump's obsession with election fraud" and saying that he was "glad" violent January 6 rioters were arrested following Trump's 2020 loss to President Joe Biden.

The vetting process has begun. DeSantis will take far harder shots than that from Democrats. And he has weaknesses. Will have to up his game. Time to go to work on them.

your 11th Amendment comment is heavily pregnant with irony.

Trump is such a tone deaf buffoon. The same guy that said men should grab women by the ***** trying to denigrate DeSantis over a photo with women? How many women have accused him of sexual assault? How many photos of him and Epstein do we need to see? Covering up payments to playboy models and porn stars to hide his numerous affairs? And he really wants to get in a pissing match with DeSantis over abuse of women?

If this is all Trump's got, he's shooting blanks.
Maybe, maybe not. We don't know much about DeSantis as an eligible bachelor. Baseball stud, Ivy League attorney, commissioned sailor in Navy whites, SEAL, dashing Congressman with a winning smile, etc.....I'd imagine he's cut a few trails. Has he been faithful to his wife? Not alleging ANYTHING. pointing out there is a lot we don't know.

Point is not that Trump is guilty of most/all of the above. Point is to negate any advantage DeSantis currently enjoys in that regard. So Trump has little to lose and much to gain from publishing dirt, real or imagined.

I've said many times, 2024 is going to be a mudfest, with the two most likely nominees being singularly unlikeable fellows with high negatives and a LOT to dislike in their public and private lives. It will be a contest to see which ******* stench is causes the most bearable retching. Perhaps DeSantis is pretty clean and could offer a contrast. But that cannot be taken as a given. He'll be tested far more intrusively than he has been to date.

If there's dirt, you get it out early. Deal with it. Move on. Ignore it. Focus on your message. Let the dirt become old news. Treat it derisively in passing as a smear, no matter how true it actually is. The value of a Trump (or Biden) is that they've already paid their "dues" in that regard. They are vetted. Nothing left to disclose. So now it's ALL made up BS. Both of them are effectively immune from further critique, with respect to a new revelation causing the campaign to collapse.

DeSantis is on the front end of that process at this time. Other than VPOTUS, a large state Gov is the best prep there is for a presidential run. But it's still not a national level office. It's almost like starting over from scratch. He definitely seems to have the moxie to weather the coming storm. And make no mistake, he's going to face a whirlwind of stuff like this. If there is nothing of substance, they'll make it up. Don't let it bug you. It's the process.

I disagree. When trump points out those things, it only reminds people of his lurid and sick behavior toward women. Heard one podcaster yesterday talking about it. The discussion quickly went from DeSantis to trumps behavior toward women. It would be akin to Bill Clinton of accusing others of sleeping with interns.

That is only true if DeSantis is squeaky clean...... If he is not, then it negates the advantage you cite.

The weakness in your argument is consistent. You are assuming that because what we know about DeSantis makes him appear highly appealing, that there is nothing left to know about him.

Reality is, he has not been vetted. Yet.

Inside skinny, from people who like him, is that he his not terribly personable, comes off a bit arrogant, humorless. That could cause him problems in IA. Also explains why Trump has tagged him with the "DeSanctimonius" moniker.

I have a few English Pointers on my bird dog string. One was sired by a dog that made Hall of Fame last year. Another is a daughter of a Nat'l Champion who will almost certainly be a HOF dog. I rode on the truck on Friday with the man who scouted one of them to 6 Championship wins, and watched the other win an equal number from the gallery. The two sires are/were outstanding specimens, superlative single-digit percentile specimens of the breed. And BOTH of them had flaws.

None of these candidates are perfect. They are human beings. With superlatives. And flaws. And the applicability of both superlatives and flaws are not uniform from cycle to cycle. a candidate perfect for one cycle might be a terrible fit for another. When I consider which of those two bird dog sires above to invest in for breeding, I can't think abstractly about which one is best. I have to calculate which of my *****es needs which sire most, and how the output will benefit what I'm trying to accomplish in my program.

We don't know everything we need to know about RDS. That's ok. He's going to get vetted. It won't be fun for his supporters, but it has to happen. A vigorous mano y mano between Trump and RDS will be good theater and it will sharpen both of them. Looks like a tossup, lean Trump right now.

Reality is, he has not been vetted. Yet.

Inside skinny, from people who like him, is that he his not terribly personable, comes off a bit arrogant, humorless. That could cause him problems in IA. Also explains why Trump has tagged him with the "DeSanctimonius" moniker.

It doesn't assume anything. I don't assume DeSantis isn't a sinner. My point is the world's worst sinner pointing out that DeSantis may have told a white lie at some point won't do much damage and stands to do much greater damage to the person casting the stone. It allows for the public to be reminded of the guy casting the stone's sins.

We all have our character flaws. Few as many as Trump. And that is going to yet again be his downfall. Wait and see.

I'm much more interested in the dogs!

It would be akin to Bill Clinton of accusing others of sleeping with interns.

...or maybe it's going to muddy the water and fully or partially offset a perceived advantage DeSantis might have on the particular issue you mention. Trump critics tend to reflexively assume that anything Trump does is a personal decision, an irritable, impulsive eruption fueled mostly by the fact that he is an irritable, impulsive ass. Reality is, he does have advisors. He does ask questions (lots, actually). That he doesn't always agree with his advisors is not an entirely bad thing (everyone of them on the payroll are Beltway creatures). Usually, there is a method to the madness, both in a generic campaign as well as the Trump campaign in particular. Could they be on to something? Perhaps. The "DeSanctimonious" attack seemed to come out of left field to many, but it in fact is rooted in observations of those in the game, as well as focus group feedback. RDS is not terribly cuddly or even avuncular, comes across as *****ly, a bit arrogant & humorless to some. If Bill Clinton sets the standard for personal warmth & charm, RDS is somewhat closer to the other end of the spectrum.

The argument that RDS is a superior general election candidate to DJT is compelling. That is not to say RDS doesn't have flaws. He does. And all the other campaigns will grind & dig on the ones that are known and suspected. There will be probing attacks, too. It's a process......

If you are saying a POS like Trump attacking DeSantis's character might move the needle a bit, sure. Anything is a possibility. Likely? No. More likely to call attention to what a POS Trump is.

If Trump's advisors are telling him to put out some of the bat**** crazy stuff he puts on social media, they need to be fired. He's batting 0-fer since 2018. Guy is a loser. If he hadn't allowed himself to be painted as a bat**** crazy buffoon, I suspect he'd still be president.

Incredible to me that Missouri voters prefer a loser and re-tread to DeSantis. Haley is probably syphoning votes from DeSantis.

Haley may be angling for a VP nod.

Haley will end up getting nothing. I'm hearing Tim Scott is going to announce soon as well. He will be more popular in the SC primary than Haley and would be a more likely VP choice for someone.

Wait and see.
...or maybe it's going to muddy the water and fully or partially offset a perceived advantage DeSantis might have on the particular issue you mention.

Look at what your argument presumes. How do you know for certain that RDS hasn't been unfaithful to his wife, that RDS didn't go to some pretty exciting parties back in the day...... Did Trump really pick on this issue irrationally, or is there something we don't know that makes the issue more fertile than you presume?

I've never heard a peep on any of that. But campaigns do opposition research, and they usually choose their angles of attack to have some legs. While you are agitated over this, I am curious......

Nikki Haley is in this race literally just to waste the money of some Rich Republicans.

Its hilarious.

She won't even get 10% of the GOP vote in the primaries.
But she might make the short-list for VP, and she has a need to stay top of mind for an administration post. She would be a fairly obvious SecState.

Name ID is a perishable asset. Campaigning for office raises your name ID. Even SAYING you were a candidate for President, won a single primary, are bragging points on a resume.....

Incredible to me that Missouri voters prefer a loser and re-tread to DeSantis. Haley is probably syphoning votes from DeSantis.

Haley may be angling for a VP nod.
It's effectively a tie race and 19% undecideds whom I would presume would break for RDS if the race were held today. A goodly number of delegates are at stake, in a primary that will be downstream of an almost certain big win in FL for RDS.

That poll is good news for RDS.

My point is, we've already voted for a morally bankrupt individual. Trump is a scumbag and POS who had multiple affairs and likely sexually assaulted women. And yet the base turned out in droves to support him.

At this point, whether Ron DeSantis had an affair isn't going to move the needle for a base that largely ignored Trump's transgressions (I admit to holding my nose and voting for him). And it's especially ironic for a piece of **** like Trump to try and cast stones from his glass mansion.

Like most of his little Twitter, squabbles, this isn't going to move the needle, IMO. All it will do is reflect poorly on him and make Americans remember why they voted against him the last election.

I am curious, if Ron DeSantis had an affair at some point, would that affect your ability to vote for him? I mean you've already come out fully throated supporting Trump despite what a piece of **** he is. Is it really going to sway you if DeSantis had an affair at some point while Trump was banging porn stars when his third wife was pregnant?

Noted: Nikki Haley proposes a mental acuity test for lawmakers over 75

As she kicked off her campaign for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley proposed on Wednesday that all lawmakers 75 and over be required to take a mental acuity test.
"In the America that I see … we will have term limits for Congress, and mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old," said Haley, 51, to cheers from the crowd.

Sounds great but not realistic. How does she think these policies will be put into place?

never said revelation of an RDS affair would move the needle in the way you suggest. Rather, I have fairly consistently stated the obvious: such would sharply limit if not prevent RDS supporters from attacking Trump on the womanizing issue.

This is very simple. Not sure why refuse to see it. If RDS has had an affair, or a legendary single life as a dashing naval office, it would limit his ability to posture as the doting family family man to contrast against Trump. Such is not terribly sophisticated campaign calculation: if you are Trump, and RDS has things which might raise that issue in the minds of voters, it would be dereliction of duty not to point it out.

And if RDS does have pedcadillos, on this issue or anything else, the time to get them out is NOW. Gotta reveal, weather the storm, and get them into the "old news nobody cares about anymore" category.

So when Trump DOES raise that issue, it should beg questions to interested observers....

Nothing about that sounds like a winning strategy and that triggers me.

I know GOP chairman who would try to destroy anyone who went out and tried to register black and brown voters. Absolutely refused to do it. Stay away from Black or Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, etc....

The rationale?
"They aren't our voters. All we will do if we go try to organize them is increase turnout for Democrats."

Moderate GOP'ers always want to pick the Mitt Romney types who look the part and say nothing that would excite the GOP base (because presumably doing so would antagonize independents and motivate the Democrat base.) Blah blah blah, nuance and matte hair gel, giving speeches that sound like undecipherable characters from Peanuts.

"I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, "We must broaden the base of our party" - when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.
Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?
Let our banner proclaim our belief in a free market as the greatest provider for the people.
Let us explore ways to ward off socialism, not by increasing government's coercive power, but by increasing participation by the people in the ownership of our industrial machine.
It is time to reassert our principles and raise them to full view. And if there are those who cannot subscribe to these principles, then let them go their way."
