Point is not that Trump is guilty of most/all of the above. Point is to negate any advantage DeSantis currently enjoys in that regard. So Trump has little to lose and much to gain from publishing dirt, real or imagined.
I've said many times, 2024 is going to be a mudfest, with the two most likely nominees being singularly unlikeable fellows with high negatives and a LOT to dislike in their public and private lives. It will be a contest to see which ******* stench is causes the most bearable retching. Perhaps DeSantis is pretty clean and could offer a contrast. But that cannot be taken as a given. He'll be tested far more intrusively than he has been to date.
If there's dirt, you get it out early. Deal with it. Move on. Ignore it. Focus on your message. Let the dirt become old news. Treat it derisively in passing as a smear, no matter how true it actually is. The value of a Trump (or Biden) is that they've already paid their "dues" in that regard. They are vetted. Nothing left to disclose. So now it's ALL made up BS. Both of them are effectively immune from further critique, with respect to a new revelation causing the campaign to collapse.
DeSantis is on the front end of that process at this time. Other than VPOTUS, a large state Gov is the best prep there is for a presidential run. But it's still not a national level office. It's almost like starting over from scratch. He definitely seems to have the moxie to weather the coming storm. And make no mistake, he's going to face a whirlwind of stuff like this. If there is nothing of substance, they'll make it up. Don't let it bug you. It's the process.

I disagree. When trump points out those things, it only reminds people of his lurid and sick behavior toward women. Heard one podcaster yesterday talking about it. The discussion quickly went from DeSantis to trumps behavior toward women. It would be akin to Bill Clinton of accusing others of sleeping with interns.

Point is not that Trump is guilty of most/all of the above. Point is to negate any advantage DeSantis currently enjoys in that regard. So Trump has little to lose and much to gain from publishing dirt, real or imagined.
I've said many times, 2024 is going to be a mudfest, with the two most likely nominees being singularly unlikeable fellows with high negatives and a LOT to dislike in their public and private lives. It will be a contest to see which ******* stench is causes the most bearable retching. Perhaps DeSantis is pretty clean and could offer a contrast. But that cannot be taken as a given. He'll be tested far more intrusively than he has been to date.
If there's dirt, you get it out early. Deal with it. Move on. Ignore it. Focus on your message. Let the dirt become old news. Treat it derisively in passing as a smear, no matter how true it actually is. The value of a Trump (or Biden) is that they've already paid their "dues" in that regard. They are vetted. Nothing left to disclose. So now it's ALL made up BS. Both of them are effectively immune from further critique, with respect to a new revelation causing the campaign to collapse.
DeSantis is on the front end of that process at this time. Other than VPOTUS, a large state Gov is the best prep there is for a presidential run. But it's still not a national level office. It's almost like starting over from scratch. He definitely seems to have the moxie to weather the coming storm. And make no mistake, he's going to face a whirlwind of stuff like this. If there is nothing of substance, they'll make it up. Don't let it bug you. It's the process.
I disagree. When trump points out those things, it only reminds people of his lurid and sick behavior toward women. Heard one podcaster yesterday talking about it. The discussion quickly went from DeSantis to trumps behavior toward women. It would be akin to Bill Clinton of accusing others of sleeping with interns.

It doesn't assume anything. I don't assume DeSantis isn't a sinner. My point is the world's worst sinner pointing out that DeSantis may have told a white lie at some point won't do much damage and stands to do much greater damage to the person casting the stone. It allows for the public to be reminded of the guy casting the stone's sins.
We all have our character flaws. Few as many as Trump. And that is going to yet again be his downfall. Wait and see.

The argument that RDS is a superior general election candidate to DJT is compelling. That is not to say RDS doesn't have flaws. He does. And all the other campaigns will grind & dig on the ones that are known and suspected. There will be probing attacks, too. It's a process......

Trump Shares DeSantis 'Grooming' Accusation Just as Governor Defends Him
Former President Donald Trump boosted an accusation that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was guilty of "grooming" underage girls shortly after DeSantis defended the former president over the "Russia collusion hoax."
DeSantis, who is widely viewed as Trump's likely 2024 GOP presidential primary opponent despite not officially announcing his candidacy, took part in a roundtable discussion about "media defamation practices" on Tuesday morning.
During the discussion, the governor referred to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into allegations that Trump's 2016 campaign team colluded with Russia as the "Russia collusion hoax," echoing a phrase that is often repeated by the ex-president himself.
Within hours, Trump went on a rampage against DeSantis in a series of Truth Social posts. In two posts, Trump shared an image that purportedly showed the governor drinking alcohol with teenage girls that he was responsible for teaching at a high school in Georgia.
Trump on Tuesday shared an image to Truth Social claiming that DeSantis, his potential 2024 GOP primary rival, was allegedly guilty of "grooming" underage girls while working as a high school teacher.
A version of the image shared by Trump on Truth Social featured the caption,"Here is Ron DeSanctimonious grooming high school girls with alcohol as a teacher."
The former president commented, "That's not Ron, is it? He would never do such a thing!" While sharing the picture a second time, he added, "No way?"
Some on social media were quick to point out that the Florida governor and his teamhad previously pushed rhetoric baselessly claiming that LGBTQ people are guilty of "grooming" children.
"Ron DeSantis has waged a hateful war against the LGBTQ community and frequently called all of us 'groomers,'" writer and actor Benjamin Siemon tweeted. "That Donald Trump is now insinuating DeSantis is a pedophile is truly delicious and deserved."
Trump shared another Truth Social post on Tuesday that accused the Florida governor of not supporting Trump's border wall in 2018, prompting the former president to suggest that he regretted his endorsement of DeSantis.
"Wow, if I knew that I wouldn't have Endorsed him (and he would have had to quit the race, down 35 points!)," Trump wrote while sharing the post.
The former president shared additional posts that blasted DeSantis for denouncing "Trump's obsession with election fraud" and saying that he was "glad" violent January 6 rioters were arrested following Trump's 2020 loss to President Joe Biden.

I disagree. When trump points out those things, it only reminds people of his lurid and sick behavior toward women. Heard one podcaster yesterday talking about it. The discussion quickly went from DeSantis to trumps behavior toward women. It would be akin to Bill Clinton of accusing others of sleeping with interns.

The argument that RDS is a superior general election candidate to DJT is compelling. That is not to say RDS doesn't have flaws. He does. And all the other campaigns will grind & dig on the ones that are known and suspected. There will be probing attacks, too. It's a process......
If Trump's advisors are telling him to put out some of the bat**** crazy stuff he puts on social media, they need to be fired. He's batting 0-fer since 2018. Guy is a loser. If he hadn't allowed himself to be painted as a bat**** crazy buffoon, I suspect he'd still be president.
I've never heard a peep on any of that. But campaigns do opposition research, and they usually choose their angles of attack to have some legs. While you are agitated over this, I am curious......
My point is, we've already voted for a morally bankrupt individual. Trump is a scumbag and POS who had multiple affairs and likely sexually assaulted women. And yet the base turned out in droves to support him.
At this point, whether Ron DeSantis had an affair isn't going to move the needle for a base that largely ignored Trump's transgressions (I admit to holding my nose and voting for him). And it's especially ironic for a piece of **** like Trump to try and cast stones from his glass mansion.
Like most of his little Twitter, squabbles, this isn't going to move the needle, IMO. All it will do is reflect poorly on him and make Americans remember why they voted against him the last election.
I am curious, if Ron DeSantis had an affair at some point, would that affect your ability to vote for him? I mean you've already come out fully throated supporting Trump despite what a piece of **** he is. Is it really going to sway you if DeSantis had an affair at some point while Trump was banging porn stars when his third wife was pregnant?
